Terrifying footage captured the moment three masked gunmen opened fire on a young Washington family after apparently shooting up the wrong home.

Two suspects remain at large over a month after the shooting unfolded on February 4 outside the home of Justin Cromwell, his wife Tara, and their three young children.

Their home was riddled with bullets that shattered windows, doors and even entered the children’s bedrooms, leaving the family panic-stricken and forcing them to leave their home of eight years.

The family say they have no idea why their home was attacked, and Justin told FOX13 he believes ‘they got the wrong house.’

When the shooting erupted on the family’s sleepy street in Marysville, Washington, doorbell footage initially showed the men ominously pull up to the home in a dark-colored Chevrolet Camaro.

Justin had just returned shortly before midnight, and said he was initially alarmed to see the car lurking on his street when he arrived.

According to a GoFundMe, the three heavily armed men had been ‘periodically driving through their neighborhood, in his absence, since about 10:30pm that night.’

The fundraiser stated Justin also observed the car had no license plates, before making eye contact with a man leaning on the Camaro.

Justin told his wife what he saw and ‘felt something wasn’t right’, leading him to wait inside his garage with the lights off to watch them from his surveillance cameras.

The car then pulled up in front of his garage, and he saw the men sneak out of the vehicle with guns and appear to try and enter his property, so he armed himself.

In a flash, footage showed a huge number of bullets were fired at the home, with Justin returning fire from inside as his family ducked for cover.

‘I told my kids to get down, then (we) come to find bullets came from every part of the house,’ Tara said.

After Justin returned fire, the chaotic scenes continued for several minutes, before the gunmen rushed from the scene, leaving the car behind.

Tara said that when cops later investigated the vehicle, they found it had been stolen and was filled with tasers and zip ties.

The mother-of-three said her family has been devastated by the near-miss, and her six-year-old daughter ‘won’t go in her room because her bedroom window is shot.’

One man, identified as 35-year-old Joshua McIntire, has been arrested in connection with the shooting, and is facing charges including first-degree assault with a firearm and possession of a stolen vehicle.

The fundraiser added that McIntire was also shot in the episode.

The Cromwell’s were in attendance at McIntire’s arraignment, and insisted that they had never seen him before his day in court.

‘They asked him about signing the no-contact order for the children,’ said Tara.

‘(McIntire) pretty much asked his attorney, why he needed to sign something if he didn’t know who they were? So, he admitted to not knowing who we were at all.’

Two other suspects remain on the run, and the Cromwell family say they are planning to leave their neighborhood as they still fear for their lives.

Tara said they ‘want to get out of here as soon as possible, adding: ‘We’ve been here for almost eight years in this neighborhood and to have to leave like this is hard.’

‘Mentally, we’re not the same, but physically we’re okay,’ she said.

As their home was riddled with bullets, Justin said they were forced to drain their bank accounts on hotels and rental cars for weeks.

A neighbor has since set up a GoFundMe, which would help pay for repairs on the Cromwell’s home and other neighbors’ properties that were also shot up.

The fundraiser added that the men also attempted to break into several other homes as they left the scene.

The family are described as small business owners, and ‘caring for themselves and their children during this time has meant losing much needed income in this already difficult time.’
