A teenage boy has tragically died after an ‘incident’ in north Manchester, police have confirmed.
Officers and paramedics rushed to the scene on Nevin Road in New Moston, Oldham, on Sunday with a large police cordon now in place.
There is also a cordon outside the nearby Fairway Inn pub, with officers at the scene.
Detectives have launched a murder investigation and three arrests have been made.
The boy’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
An air ambulance helicopter also scrambled to the scene and landed in Nuthurst Park earlier this afternoon.
Superintendent Marcus Noden, of Greater Manchester Police, said: ‘This is a distressing and heartbreaking incident where a boy has lost his life.
‘We are still trying to establish the circumstances around the incident and have a number of scenes in place.
‘Officers are looking for information or eye witness accounts from anyone who was in the Nevin Road area of New Moston at around 5pm today quoting log 2250 of 8/6/25.
