alert-–-taylor-swift-fans-sob-as-star-thanks-‘my-boyfriend-travis-kelce’-during-historic-2024-mtv-vmas-video-of-the-year-winAlert – Taylor Swift fans SOB as star thanks ‘my boyfriend Travis Kelce’ during historic 2024 MTV VMAs Video of the Year win

Taylor Swift fans could hardly contain their emotions as the singer gave her boyfriend Travis Kelce a sweet shout-out at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards in New York on Wednesday.

The Anti-Hero hitmaker, 34, thanked the NFL star, 34, as she recalled shooting her Fortnight music video while accepting Video Of The Year during the ceremony.

‘I would always just hear someone cheering from across the studio where we were shooting [Fortnight],’ Swift began.

‘And that one person was my boyfriend Travis. Everything this man touches turns into happiness and fun and magic.

‘I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I’ll always remember that,’ the 13-time Grammy-winner gushed.

Fans were brought to tears as they flocked to social media to react to Swift’s kind words about her boyfriend of one-year — with many declaring it a ‘hard launch.’

It comes amid wild rumors that her romance with Kelce is a ‘PR stunt.’

‘Taylor always gives us a lil treat and tonight’s lil treat was travis mention,’ one devout Swiftie gushed on X (formerly Twitter).

Many thought it was great to see how much Swift ‘seems to appreciate the positive impact [Travis] had on their project.’

Another fan joked: ‘Taylor Swift thanking and publicly referring to Travis Kelce as her boyfriend is still the biggest sports news of the night.

Swift took home a whopping seven VMAs for Fortnight, bringing her career total to 30.

She officially surpassed Beyonce, who was previously the artist with the most VMAs.

Her Video Of The Year win was also historic as she become the first artist to win the honor five times.

She previously held the record for most Video of the Year victories with four trophies under her name.

Before sweeping the awards show, Swift hit the red carpet in a show-stopping look that first sparked speculation that she planned to release the re-recording of her 2017 alum Reputation.

Though they spent the weekend together in NYC, Kelce did not join Swift at Wednesday night’s star-studded ceremony.

Music’s biggest stars returned for another night of celebration at MTV’s legendary Video Music Awards on Wednesday.

This year’s festivities were hosted by rapper Megan Thee Stallion and held at the UBS Arena in Long Island on September 11.

Stallion, 29, herself was nominated for five awards, including best collaboration and best hip-hop. She previously won best power anthem for Hot Girl Summer.

The evening was a who’s who of music superstars with Sabrina Carpenter, Katy Perry, Camila Cabello, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, Benson Boone, Halsey, LISA, Lenny Kravitz, Anitta, Karol G, LL Cool J, and Shawn Mendes all set to perform at the show.

This year’s recipient of the legendary Video Vanguard Award was Katy Perry.

‘Katy is a musical powerhouse and true pop culture icon,’ said Bruce Gillmer, chief content officer of music at Paramount+ and president of music, music talent, programming and events at Paramount in a statement.

‘With her game changing creative vision, she has become a global phenomenon and taken over the world’s biggest stages,’ added Gillmer.

Past winners of the Video Vanguard Award include David Bowie, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, and Pink.

The award comes as Perry prepares to release her upcoming seventh studio album 143. Her comeback single from the album, Woman’s World, flopped in the charts following its release over the summer.

As for accolades, Swift was the most-nominated artist at the event with an impressive 10 nods to her name.
