SZA had a close call during a concert on Saturday night which led to her being brutally body-shamed by fans.

In footage, shared by Pop Crave, the hitmaker, 35, is nearly dropped by her male backup dancer after he lost his center of gravity in the middle of their choreographed dance in Minneapolis during the first night of her joint Grand National Tour with Kendrick Lamar.

The incident took place while she was performing with a dancer dressed in an insect-inspired costume to go with a video of a preying mantis devouring her mate.

They struggled to remain standing for a few frightening seconds before the pair were able to regain their balance and continue on as if nothing had happened.

‘SZA bounces back from a near fall during the opening night of her tour,’ the Twitter account captioned the video.

Fans who saw the post had a variety of opinions they were only too happy to share.

Some cruel commenters chose to blame SZA, and her weight in particular for the mishap.

‘Bigger girls should not be doing this kind of stunt work. It was obscene to think any man could hold her,’ one troll wrote.

Others wanted the dancer to be fired as one wrote: ‘wtf? fire him. this isn’t the place to be f**king around,’ wrote one outraged fan referring to the unlucky dancer.

‘Why he had to F up at the Minneapolis show?’ asked another.

A different angle of the incident shared in a reply showed the struggle to keep the performance as seamless as possible.

‘That recovery was smoother than most people’s entrances!’ wrote a fan.

Others pushed back defending the Grammy winner.

‘Y’all she bounced back, didn’t get hurt and did her show. The internet is the most jealous a** nasty a** place,’ wrote a ardent fan, adding, ‘Y’all don’t have a fraction of her money, accolades or talent and yet here you are talking sh*t over a small fall.’
