Sylvester Stallone is one cautious father, revealing he had his daughters take self-defense training with Navy SEALS before they moved to New York City.
The 77-year-old Rocky star, his wife Jennifer Flavin and their daughters Sophia and Sistine have been making the press rounds to promote Season 2 of The Family Stallone.
The actor and his family spoke with New York Post, with Sly revealing he was so nervous about his daughters living in New York City he had them undergo this training.
‘Sophia and I got our a**es whooped by these guys. They were the real deal,’ Sistine said in the interview.
‘It was the hardest. It was about six hours we were in those woods,’ she added, revealing both she and her sister were used to these sorts of things.

‘And I’m not surprised my dad put us through something like this because our entire life we grew up with him doing these sort of military-esque, self-defense trainings,’ she added.
Sophia recalled her morning regime with Sly, which involved waking up at 6 AM for an unusual breakfast.
‘It was a rigorous routine. Every day at 6 a.m., he would make us eat eggs with ketchup. For some reason, that combination … to bulk up,’ Sophia said.
Sophia added, ‘But then it was a lot of sit ups, push ups, pull ups, clean and jerks,’ while Sistine joked, ‘He made the perfect boys.’
The training before moving to New York City will be included in Season 2 of The Family Stallone, which included chasing a live chicken, which Stallone himself did in a memorable training scene in Rocky II.
That is deceivingly hard. I went in there a little cocky, no pun intended. I got beat by the chicken,’ Sistine said.
The youngest of Sly and Jennifer Flavin’s three daughters, 21-year-old Scarlett, a college junior who lives in Miami, didn’t have to undergo the training.
‘I was so happy I was not involved,’ Scarlett joked, though she did discuss a memorable moment when visiting her sisters in NYC.

‘The first time Sistine and I were getting to know the city . . . She steps on when I say a rat … it was the size of a mini dog. We were screaming, running,’ Scarlett said.
Sophia and Sistine have been living in New York City for just over a year now, but that hasn’t made their father any less nervous.
‘I don’t think he’ll ever be less nervous. He’s like a classic, overprotective dad. Three daughters at an age where, you know, we’re kind of all over the place and we’re out and about,’ Sistine said.
‘It helps that my mom tracks us on Find My Friends [app] so they know where we are,’ said Sophia.
Sly also opened up on the series about undergoing seven major operations after hurting his back on The Expendables.
‘I did stupid stuff. I was directing Expendables and like an idiot I’m doing take ten, take whatever, and I remember one slam and I could actually feel one bang,’ he said of a scene he filmed with wrestler-turned-actor ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.’

‘Steve knew. I never recovered from Expendables 1. After that film, it was never physically the same. I’ve warned people – don’t do your own stunts,’ he says.
His wife Flavin added, ‘Sly tries to mask the pain, pretending like it didn’t happen. He doesn’t like people to know he’s had so many back surgeries.’
‘It’s very scary for our family every time Sly has to go through surgery, because you never know . . . no one knows,’ she added.
Scarlett added, ‘It’s really hard to see my father go through yet another painful operation. My whole childhood, he’s been in pain.’
