Four people who crashed a stolen Toyota Prado LandCruiser into 30 cars in Sydney are on the run from police.

The car was spotted being driven dangerously on Oxford and Young St, two busy streets in the central suburb Redfern, on Thursday night.

Just hours earlier, the Prado had been reported stolen in Palm View, on the Sunshine Coast.

New South Wales Police allege the car sped away from officers when prompted to pull over at the intersection of South Dowling and Cleveland St so police initiated a pursuit.

Despite the incident taking place in New South Wales, the vehicle had Queensland plates.
