The Block’s Suzi Taylor has returned to social media for the first time in months to reveal her surprise new career path.

The former reality TV star, 52, whose real name is Suellen Jan Taylor, shared her first Instagram grid post in 13 weeks following her legal woes last year.

In the post, she confirmed her venture into the building industry as she shared a job for Melbourne-based company Carver Constructions.

The advert called for 1st or 2nd year carpentry apprentices to apply for the company as they expand their business.

Re-sharing the advert on January 19, Suzi – who competed on the 2015 season of renovation contest The Block – tagged the construction company and herself in the post.

As well as her reality TV stint, Suzi has previously worked as a glamour model, posing for raunchy magazine photoshoots, and has also acted in the past, having an X-rated role in 2003 crime film Gettin’ Square.

Suzi returned to Instagram again this week to share another glamorous smiling selfie with her close pal as she spent time in Fortitude Valley in Brisbane.

She put on a busty display in a plunging black vest top and smiled for the camera, writing in an accompanying caption: ‘Girls just wanna have fun #bff #soulsisters.’

Suzi walked free from court in July last year with a $500 fine following a sudden turn in a scheduled hearing at a Queensland court.

She was facing several police charges, including possessing dangerous drugs, alleged to have stemmed from an incident in Southport last year.

She was due to face a hearing at Southport Magistrates Court over a single count of possessing tainted property – alleged to be a trauma kit – but police offered no evidence on the charge and it was withdrawn and dismissed.

Suzi pleaded guilty to the remaining charges of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug property and breaching bail.

Outside court, Suzi’s defence lawyer Michael Gatenby said she hoped to ‘restart her life’ now that her matters had been finalised.

‘She’s had a successful career in the past and hopes to regain that,’ he said.

‘She’s very hopeful she can re-establish her relationship with her children and is pleased with all of these matters.’

The court was told a search warrant was conducted at a Southport address Suzi was residing at on November 11, 2022.

Officers located a small 3.9g bag of methylamphetamine on her bedside table and another 2.5g bag of cocaine.

A small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe used to smoke the drug ice was also found.

Suzi also breached her bail conditions on several occasions, including failing to report and reside at her home.

She told police said she was effectively homeless at the time and was unaware she needed to inform police to change her address.

Defence lawyer Michael Gatenby said his client had suffered ‘significant humiliation’ after being filmed by A Current Affair getting into a physical confrontation with a woman in Brisbane in early 2020.

‘She has suffered a significant downturn to her mental health,’ he said.

The court was told a ‘cooperative’ Suzi was sharing a room with someone who was known to use illicit drugs at the time the search warrant was executed.

‘The warrant was targeting that particular man,’ Mr Gatenby said.

The court was told Suzi had plans to house-sit for a friend in Avalon Beach in NSW’s Northern Beaches.

Mr Gatenby said his client also planned to find employment in Sydney upon relocating there.

Suzi dabbed at her eyes as magistrate Sarah Thompson convicted and fined her $500.

She took Suzi’s mental health issues into account and her attempts to move away from the negative influences of living on the Gold Coast.

‘Hopefully with those protective factors, you will get some stability in your life,’ Magistrate Thompson said.

In April 2021, Suzi stood trial on charges of extortion, deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm, fraud and attempted fraud stemming from an alleged escort date gone wrong.

Police had alleged Suzi and another man, Ali Ebrahimi, had tied up and assaulted a man who had got in touch with Suzi through a dating app.

The pair were found not guilty on all charges.

A month later, Suzi was convicted but not further punished on charges, including possessing small amounts of cocaine and marijuana, drink driving, trespassing and multiple breaches of bail.

In May 2019, she pleaded guilty to fraud and theft charges, after she was caught using a stolen credit card to buy alcohol.

The mother-of-three was filmed buying booze at a bottle shop on May 2 using a credit card she’d stolen from a patient recovering at Mater Hospital.

She spent more than $500 on seven separate transactions, including $400 on alcohol.

A week later, Suzi was also identified on CCTV by staff at Brisbane’s Westin Hotel taking a mobile phone and laptop from a guest at their bar.

Police located the stolen items at her home on May 10, and she was given a notice to appear in court where she was issued a $2,500 fine.

Suzi also famously sparked controversy in January 2016 after claiming she had a ‘secret relationship’ with Weekend Today show host Richard ‘Dickie’ Wilkins.

‘He gave me access to his house and I would be there in my underwear waiting for him when he got home from work,’ she claimed.

But after months of sneaking around, Suzi said she was left heartbroken when Dickie suddenly ended their romance.

Suzi rose to fame as part of the ‘Single Mums’ renovating team on The Block alongside her then-BFF Yvonne ‘Voni’ Cosier.

Even though the pair placed last on the show, they still walked away with a tidy profit of $349,000.

Her wild antics, including an infamous topless dance on a boat in Melbourne, made her one of the show’s most controversial stars.
