Almost seven million ns feel the need to find a second job to combat the cost of living, a new survey has revealed.
Up to 32 per cent of respondents desire a second income, equating to 6.7million Aussies, the research by Finder revealed.
Up to 41 per cent of female respondents and 24 per cent of male respondents think they need a second job amid the cost of living crisis.
Aussies in their early to mid twenties feel the most financial pressure, with 56 per cent of Gen Z saying they felt the need for two incomes.
This was followed by up to 40 per cent of millennials.

Finder money expert Rebecca Pike said many people had no option but to take on a second job to keep their heads above water.
‘The cost of living crisis means many are in financial strife and are finding it difficult to pay for rising insurance and energy bills,’ she said.
Ms Pike recommended finding ways to boost your income without having to take on a second job, which can be a big responsibility.
‘From renting out equipment you’re not using at home to renting out a spare room or advertising your skills on AirTasker, side hustles can be a great way to earn some extra cash,’ she told 9News.
‘That way you can pick and choose when you work.’

The most sought-after jobs were removalist jobs which paid $168 on average, followed by residential cleaning jobs which paid $182 on average.
Handyman jobs were number three and paid $303 on average, followed by gardening/lawn mowing ($194) and assembling furniture ($169).
Waste collection was also a popular job on Airtasker ($156) followed by painting services ($668) and freelance mechanic jobs ($251).
This was followed by pick up and delivery services ($135 for an average job) and plumbing callout jobs – which could earn a person up to $261.
