A woman is dead and two others rushed to hospital after a suspected mass drug overdose in an apartment at one of ‘s most popular tourist destinations.
Police and ambulance crews were called to an apartment on The Esplanade in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast about 11.30pm Friday night in response to an emergency call reporting patients unconscious and not breathing.
A 40-year-old woman died at the scene.
Two other women were rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital.
One is in a critical condition and the other in a serious condition.

Four other people were assessed by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.
The group is believed to have ingested a cocktail of drugs including ketamine and GHB or fantasy, reported the Courier-Mail.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
