Matt Doran looked less than impressed as he underwent an ’80s makeover live on Weekend Sunrise on Sunday morning.
The breakfast show presenter, 41, was given a perm during a beauty segment in which he and fellow journalist Liam Tapper received new hairstyles.
Matt was forced to close the show with the ghastly hairdo.
Co-host Monique Wright revealed the ’80s perm look ‘is making an unexpected comeback with men’, so she decided to experiment on her colleague’s hair.
‘Naturally, we wanted to investigate how to get that look without any chemicals and what the modern day man might look like with those curls,’ she said.
‘I suggested, I thought it was a great idea that Matt and Liam get given a makeover.’
The camera then cut to Matt with his short dark hair curled into very tight ringlets.
Matt’s locks sprouted out from his head in a wild shape he likened to the character Kramer from the late ’80s sitcom Seinfeld.

‘I would describe this as catastrophic,’ Matt said as he stared deadpan into the camera.
‘Would you say that’s diabolical?’ he said, before adding: ‘Of all the things you’ve done to me, Mon, this is at the top of my list of grievances. I will exact my revenge.’
It comes as Matt could be the latest Seven star to get caught up in the network’s bloodbath, which has seen several pay cuts and job losses across the company.

Matt has a ‘question mark’ over his future, the Daily Telegraph reported on Sunday, but any decision is up in the air.
Meanwhile, respected newsreader Mark Ferguson is in danger and ‘this week [is] starting six weeks of forced annual leave’.
It’s understood the network will consider replacements for his role once his contract expires.
Names being touted to take Mark’s seat are Michael Usher, Angela Cox and Angie Asimus.
David Koch, who is still on contract with Seven after leaving Sunrise, is reportedly unlikely to have his contract renewed.
Sonia Kruger is likely to survive, ‘but will absolutely take a “haircut”‘ on her $1.3million salary, a source told the newspaper.
Dr Chris Brown is also safe, but may face a pay cut on his rumoured $2million contract.
