The View’s Sunny Hostin sparked outrage when she claimed white women who voted for Donald Trump are ‘uneducated’ – but she is being backed by bosses who have no plans to reprimand her over the divisive comments.

Hostin, 56, a journalist and lawyer who has spent eight years co-hosting the popular ABC show, was discussing Trump’s resounding election victory over Kamala Harris when she expressed her confusion at the large number of white women who voted for the 78-year-old.

The TV star said the demographics revealed ‘uneducated White women’ failed to get on board with Vice President Harris.

Devon Mostert, the wife of Miami Dolphins star Raheem, was among those who lambasted her for the ‘disgusting and unacceptable’ comment.

But despite the uproar, producers are reportedly delighted with the reaction, are preparing for a ‘resurgence in viewers’ and do not believe she crossed the line.

‘Sunny is doing her part to voice the views of so many people in the US right now, and the show is gearing up for a resurgence in viewers, ratings and must-see TV,’ an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively.

‘Producers haven’t told her to tone it down as of yet because they know that it gets people talking.’

The insider added that Hostin did not push the boundaries with her comment and will not be asked to tone it down.

‘A Trump presidency is gold for shows like this,’ the insider noted. ‘People are fired up. Sunny would really have to go overboard to be fired, suspended or asked to tone it down.’

They continued: ‘The reason they have her on the show in the first place is for the takes that she brings. Nobody is frustrated or upset with what Sunny is bringing to the table.’

Hostin’s comments enraged viewers with one X user tweeting: ‘Sunny Hostin, an “educated” lawyer going on TV and insulting an entire voting base by calling them uneducated shows that education does not always equate to intelligence, self-awareness, or social awareness.’

Another commented: ‘Sunny Hostin seems to get a kick out of saying “Uneducated White Women”. what an insulting witch.’

A third viewer wrote: ‘Wait, did Sunny Hostin just call white women who voted for Trump “uneducated”—multiple times? And they still can’t figure out why they keep losing elections.’

Venting their outrage on Reddit, one viewer fumed: ‘Huge blunder bringing education levels into the conversation. There’s no good way to change someone’s mind after you called them stupid.’

Another noted: ‘She might as well have called the women she referred to as mouth-breathers or window-lickers.’

‘I’m liberal and would never vote for trump but her comment stopped me in my tracks. It just didn’t sound good at all,’ a third person wrote.

While another commented: ‘It’s a weird thing to say. Especially on a Daytime TV program. She’s insulting part of the viewership base by saying that. Common sense.’

A second source noted that while Hostin was challenged on her claim by colleague Alyssa Farah Griffin, she will not be deterred from voicing her opinions.

‘Sunny and Alyssa have disagreed several times and she is not about to let that get under her skin,’ they said.

‘She has been accused of being racist, but the other ladies on the panel know she is not.’

The pair also clashed after Hostin branded Hispanic voters ‘sexist and misogynistic’ in the wake of Harris losing a significant portion of the voter bloc in the election.

Farah Griffin, a former Trump administration official, brought up that Harris won Latino voters by just six points, despite Joe Biden winning the group by 33 points in 2020 and Hillary Clinton by 38 points in 2016.

‘Finally, we talk a lot about these different demographics and assumptions of where they’re going to go,’ Farah Griffin said, noting that one Texas district with a 97 percent Latino population ‘went 75 percentage points for Donald Trump.’

‘Why?’ she questioned, before Hostin interrupted her cohost and said ‘misogyny.’

Farah Griffin, 35, grew irate and threw her hands in the air at Hostin’s remark, and stressed that liberals ‘need to take some lessons’ from Trump’s resounding win.

The source added that Hostin’s long-standing relationship with ABC – as well as her legal background – means the star would never truly cross any unforgivable lines.

‘She’s been on the show eight years and she’s not going anywhere yet,’ they said. ‘She has a long history with ABC and is considered one of their greatest assets.

‘Serving as a legal correspondent and analyst, she knows the law and is well-versed on what is acceptable and not acceptable. She may cause controversy, but she doesn’t cross the line.’

Hostin corrected herself towards the end of Thursday’s show.

‘Actually I want to correct something that I asked you before… I said “uneducated White women,”‘ she said. ‘It was “non-college educated White women”, per the polls.’

The decision to back Hostin came just weeks after Joy Behar received a talking to from bosses for ‘crossing the line’ when she exposed Sara Haines’ secret lesbian romance live on air.

The somewhat controversial host, 82, addressed the brief same-sex fling that Haines, 47, had in college while her parents were sat in the audience.

Behar interrupted cohost Whoopi Goldberg, 68, to ask if Haines was going to discuss the romance with her parents on their upcoming appearance on the program’s Behind the Table podcast.

She was criticized by her cohosts for ‘embarrassing’ Haines and was pulled up by bosses who told her the comment was ‘not okay.’

‘Joy was blasted by her cohosts and higher-ups for her on air comment about Sara Haines’ lesbian romance,’ an insider told DailyMail.com. ‘She crossed the line in terms of relaying something that was told to her off-air.’
