Sarah first revealed she’d tied the knot with Dave in an interview with Vogue .

She told the publication: ‘At the beginning of the pandemic last year, I got locked down in Melbourne with one of my best mates and we fell in love.

‘We’ve been friends since 2014, lived together, travelled together, always excited to see each other, but totally platonic.’

Sarah added that the stars aligned and a romance between the pair arose.

‘We’ve just never been single at the same time,’ she explained. ‘It’s been a ride. There’s so much heartache and sadness in the world, but on a micro personal level, I’ve been very fortunate.’

In May, the couple revealed they’d welcomed their first child as Sarah shared a photograph watching the series finale of Succession.

While she is best known for playing Siobhan ‘Shiv’ Roy in the HBO hit, she wasn’t allowed to talk about it on The Graham Norton Show because of the SAG-AFTRA strikes.

She appeared on the famous red sofa alongside actors Miriam Margolyes and Greta Lee, pop legend Boy George, and singer-songwriter CMAT, to promote her one-woman play The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Sarah plays 26 different characters in the show and confessed: ‘It’s a daunting Mount Everest of a task but a lot of fun.’

Talking more about the story, originally written in 1890, she said: ‘It is still such a modern idea because from the Victorian era to now is like a bookend of narcissism, the idea of self, and individualism which is just getting to this crazy chaotic moment now with Instagram and all the other ways in which we worship youth.’

Asked about her theatrical roots, she explained: ‘My grandmother was English and an actress in the 1920s and 30s and so I imagine one of her dreams would have been to be on the West End stage so it’s nice that one of her granddaughters can fulfil that for her.’

The Graham Norton Show airs on BBC One on Friday, November 3 at 10.40pm. Also available on BBC iPlayer.
