Stranger Things’ co-creator Ross Duffer and his wife Leigh Janiak have separated.
On Friday, it was reported that his movie director wife, 44, filed for divorce from the showrunner, 40, after nearly a decade of marriage.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, she cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for their divorce, but a date of separation has not yet been revealed.
This comes shortly after the fifth and final season of Stranger Things began production after being delayed by the Hollywood strikes.
The former couple first met back in 2006 while working at a Los Angeles production company together with Janiak as a producer’s assistant while Duffer was an intern.

The pair tied the knot nine years ago in 2015 and do not share any children together.
The year after they got married, Duffer and his twin brother Matt premiered Netflix sci-fi thriller series Stranger Things.
The duo are often credited as the Duffer Brothers.
The twins also co-wrote and co-directed a 2015 horror mystery titled Hidden, which stars Alexander Skarsgård opposite Andrea Riseborough.
Just weeks earlier, Duffer and the Stranger Things cast and crew began production for the fifth and final season.
Filming was initially planned for last year but was ultimately delayed due to the Hollywood strikes.
Scripts had been finalized, but the Duffer Brothers opted to postpone production as they wanted writers on set while filming.
