Steve Bannon said he is ‘proud to go to prison’ outside the Connecticut low security federal prison where he will be held for his four-month sentence.

The former Trump adviser said to supporters: I am proud to go to prison – if this is what it takes to stand up to tyranny.’

‘If this is what it takes to stand up to the Garland corrupt, criminal DOJ. If this is what it takes to stand up to Nancy Pelosi. If this is what it takes to stand up to Joe Biden, I’m proud to do it.’

Bannon will serve a relatively short sentence after a tough fight to avoid prison for defying a congressional subpoena to appear for the House Select Committee investigating the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot.

Bannon will be jailed at low security federal lockup with a satellite camp and a bakery.

Ghislaine Maxwell tried to serve her 20-year sentence there when she was convicted of aiding Jeffrey Epstein in trafficking in underage girls.

Podcaster Ian Bick, who served a stint there for wire fraud, called the facility ‘cushy,’ corrections1 reported.

‘If you’re at a camp, that’s not even really prison,’ he said, pointing to the food at the prison commissary and the prison bakery. ‘Danbury’s kind of known as a sweet spot because there’s not a lot of inmates there,’ he added.

Among those who have spent time there are singer Lauryn Hill, and Leona Helmsley after her conviction for tax fraud.
