Stephen A. Smith sent Sean Hannity into a near meltdown on Thursday as the Fox Host tried desperately to defend Donald Trump’s mental state.

The 57-year-old sports pundit was brought on to discuss Vice President Kamala Harris’ run for Oval Office, but found himself attacking Trump after Hannity suggested the Democratic candidate struggles to speak in public.

‘She has to give us word salads because she won’t tell us how she really feels. She’s hiding her true beliefs,’ Hannity said. ‘Donald Trump doesn’t do that.’

Trump has had a series of recent on-stage gaffes during events, including an event with Smith’s former ESPN colleague Sage Steele, whom the former President referred to as ‘Paige.’ He’s also canceled some events this week amid reports of exhaustion.

‘I know you’re not talking about someone being lucid and cogent, and enunciating their thoughts with clarity, and you’re bragging about Donald Trump,’ Smith said. ‘We can’t be watching the same stuff if that’s what you’re doing.

‘You’re not gonna do that today.’

Smith, who has criticized liberal and conservative politicians over the years, was quick to note that another Hannity guest, Senator Lindsey Graham, ‘can articulate himself very well.’

He then added: ‘Not Donald Trump, now.’

Hannity tried to interject, but only managed to spin his wheels as Smith put his hand to his chin and smirked into the camera.

‘I have sat with him for hour after hour after hour, topic after topic after topic and he is so dialed in,’ Hannity said.

Again, Smith wasn’t having it.

‘Really?’ he asked. ‘Didn’t he cancel his press conferences?’

Smith made it clear that he does not oppose the Grand Old Party in its entirety, but refuses to listen to Hannity defend Trump’s integrity.

‘When you bring up issues in terms of character, or in terms of being truthful, or whatever, let me tell you something right now: You can bring a whole bunch of Republicans and I’ll be cool with it,’ he said. ‘You can’t bring up Trump to make a case against somebody else using those arguments.’
