Sophie Monk quit Hollywood when she was on the verge of breaking through to a big screen career.

And the former Bardot band member says that tinseltown’s casting couch culture was partly to blame.

‘You would be doing meetings and you’d be like, “Is this a date or a reading?”‘ she tells this week’s issue of Stellar Magazine.

‘And then you’d have someone who has a crush on you, and they won’t put you in a movie because they want to keep you where you are so they can date you.

‘Even my dentist wanted a reality show’ the 43-year-old continued.

‘It’s a funny little place and people warned me about it before I went. I was like, “I will be fine.” But before I knew it, I was like, “This is not what I’m about.”‘

‘That’s why I thought, I want to come back to Australia. I was just on the cusp of getting some good stuff, but I didn’t want it anymore,’ Sophie concluded.

After giving up on Hollywood and moving back to Australia in 2015, Sophie has had a successful career as a TV host, presenting Beauty and the Geek and Love Island for Channel Nine.

Before returning home, Sophie notched up some impressive credits, starring in Date Movie in 2006 alongside Alyson Hannigan and Jennifer Coolidge.
