The Met Office has issued an amber snow warning for northern England running from 9pm tomorrow until 11.59pm on Sunday for up to 1ft 4in (40cm).
Forecasters have also imposed an amber snow and ice warning for the Midlands and Wales from 6pm tomorrow to 12pm on Sunday for up to 1ft (30cm).
These warnings come on top of the existing yellow snow warning for most of England and the whole of Wales from 12pm tomorrow until 11.59pm on Sunday.
There is also a yellow snow warning in place for Scotland from 0am on Sunday until 12pm on Monday.
And an ice warning is in place for Scotland, Northern Ireland, North East England and North Wales from 4pm today until 10am tomorrow.
