Billy Corgan, the frontman of the Smashing Pumpkins, is embracing his port wine stain birthmark and learning to be comfortable in his own skin.
On Monday, the singer-songwriter, 57, took to Instagram to share a photo of himself showing off his birthmark, which he said he has tried to ‘hide’ for his ‘whole life.’
His post comes less than a week after he and his wife Chloé Mendel, 31, announced that they’re expecting their third child together.

‘I’m a fan of body positivity movements because at the end of the day it is about celebrating what makes us “us,”‘ he began.
Then he shared a photo of Carlotta Bertotti, 23-year-old model and influencer from Turin.
‘So as you see, here is a beautiful young woman with a birthmark who has embraced her “difference” with grace,’ he wrote.
He then admitted that he has always tried to ‘hide’ his birthmark because he was teased mercilessly when he was very young.
‘My point being that my whole life I’ve endeavored to hide my “port wine” birthmarks because as you can imagine I was teased unmercifully about them as a child,’ he shared. ‘So much so that people who have known me for a decade are shocked when they finally “see it.”

‘So positive message for the day: Whoever you are, I hope you find peace with who you are because: I would like to know that person and no one else.’
And just last week, he and his wife shared an exciting announcement about their soon-to-be family-of-five.
Just ahead of the couple’s first wedding anniversary, the pair shared the news that they’re expanding their family in an interview with PEOPLE, which was published last Wednesday.
‘We are overjoyed to announce that our family is growing! It’s an exciting time for us, although unexpected,’ his wife shared with the outlet.
The expecting parents also share daughter Philomena, five, and son Augustus, eight.
‘On Sunday, we shared the news with our children, Augustus Juppiter and Philomena Clementine. While Augustus was overjoyed, Clementine, the younger of the two, asked if the baby was made already and shed a few tears of concern, which was honestly adorable,’ Corgan shared.
‘Now, both kids are beaming, and it makes it so much fun to share the joy of bringing more love into our family. We are truly blessed.’
