Six people have been arrested after a stag party celebration got out-of-hand on the airport tarmac in Tenerife.

Police have not yet specified the nationality of those involved in the fight but the plane they were on had come from London.

It is believed at least some of those arrested are British.

According to Spanish newspaper Diario de Avisos, the fight broke out on the runway at southern Tenerife Sur-Reina Sofia airport yesterday afternoon. 

The incident occurred shortly after the flight which those involved were travelling on landed on the island at 2.30pm.

‘According to witnesses to the events, a group of approximately 15 people who were celebrating a bachelor party clashed with three other people and at least one of them was injured,’ says the newspaper.

‘The confrontation took place when disembarking from the Ryanair plane, from Stansted airport, London, just before boarding the bus that would take them to the baggage claim area.

‘Several images of the altercation capture the moments of tension experienced, where people are seen without shirts.’

The Civil Guard quickly intervened in the incident to arrest six of those involved in the brawl. No further details have been given about those arrested.

Passengers and airport staff were reported to be very alarmed and concerned about the incident.

The authorities are investigating the details of what happened to determine exactly what happened.

According to Canarian Weekly, the flight was Ryanair FR2425. have contacted the airline for comment.
