Shocking photos show the catastrophic damage to a regional Victoria home after it was rammed by truck, tragically killing the two elderly occupants inside.
Emergency services were called to reports a truck veered from the road and crashed into a house on the Princes Highway, in Tower Hill near Warrnambool, just after 7am on Friday.
An 81-year-old man and 82-year-woman who were in the front bedroom of the home died at the scene.
The 70-year-old male driver and sole occupant of the truck was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
It is understood the truck, which was believed to be travelling from Port Fairy to Warrnambool, was unloaded.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are at the scene and investigations remain ongoing.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said paramedics were called to reports of an incident in Tower Hill about 7.05am.
‘One person has been transported by road ambulance to Warrnambool (Base) Hospital,’ she said.
Police members are allowing trucks and heavy vehicles through the highway while all other traffic is being diverted down Gormans Road.
