This is the horrifying moment a Dodge Durango driver mercilessly killed a Cadillac driver in a fit of road rage.
The fatal shooting took place last Thursday at around 4pm in Los Angeles on the northbound 5 Freeway, near South Lorena Street in the Boyle Heights neighborhood.
Shocking dashcam footage of the deadly incident, which left another person serious injured, showed the Dodge driver, who has not yet been identified, running on the open freeway with a weapon in hand.
The gold Cadillac was seen with its rear fender hanging off, as its driver tried undertaking a three-point turn, seemingly to drive against traffic and away from the shooter.
But before the driver can escape, the shooter fired eight bullets through the door, which was open as the car was moving.
The shooter was then seen fleeing the scene, before falling over and running into a car with several other people.
Lt. Bob Purvis said last week: ‘The occupants of the Dodge Durango exited and starting firing on the occupants of the gold Cadillac.
‘The gold Cadillac driver was able to make a U-turn and drive back southbound in the northbound lanes.’
The shooting caused a miles-long standstill on LA’s already-congested freeways.
Authorities were forced to close the freeway until at least Friday.
Little is known about the identities of those involved in the shooting. Cops only identified the dead man as someone in his 20s, and said they were still chasing the two suspects involved in the deadly incident.
Police have still not released a description of the killer, nor have they revealed a motivation for the killing, and have urged anyone with more information or dashcam footage to come forward.
