This is the shocking moment a handcuffed boy desperately runs through the street after escaping a stepfather who was knifing his mother to death.
Vitaly Ormandzhi, 42, had taken hostage his estranged wife Anna Boltneva, 36, and her son Bogdan, 16, in Sterlitamak, Russia, it is alleged.
He punched and beat both with a baseball bat, and threatened the pair with a gun to give him money, according to reports.
They fought back and the boy managed to escape despite being handcuffed, say law enforcement.
He is seen on the video running to his friend’s flat, where they called the police.
Respected Russian human rights activist and anti-domestic violence campaigner Alyona Popova said that when officers arrived at the crime scene the boy’s mother was ‘already dead’.

‘The killer stabbed her several times and cut her collarbone and neck with a knife,’ she said.
His intention to kill was clear from ‘a black funeral ribbon’ he brought to the crime scene, she added.
The Russian Investigative Committee said: ‘When the ex-wife returned home, a quarrel occurred between her and the accused, during which the woman’s son managed to escape and contacted the police through friends.
‘At this time, the accused stabbed the victim several times in the neck and chest area.
‘The woman died on the spot from her injuries.’

His estranged stepfather pointed a gun at the teenager, tied his hands and feet, gagged him and took his mobile phone, he told law enforcement.
‘The killer said that he had been planning all this for three months,’ said Popova, who was briefed on the case.
‘He had been watching them, bought a new car so as not to be noticed, and got the keys to an emergency entrance so as not to get caught on security cameras.
‘When Anna entered the apartment, he attacked her, began beating her and demanding money.
‘He beat both her and Bogdan with his fists and a bat, which he brought with him along with a pistol.’
As the suspect sought to tie up Anna, his son managed to break free and went to summon help.
The investigative committee confirmed that Ormandzhi had been detained and charged with murder.
He escaped from the crime scene but was arrested the next day while driving in Sterlitamak, second largest city in the Russian republic of Bashkortostan.

Russia has seen a rising crime wave since Vladimir Putin started his war against Ukraine almost two years ago.
There is particular concern over soaring domestic crime.
In this case, records show the woman had twice taken Ormandzhi to court over previous instances of domestic violence.
He had ‘beaten her for several hours, threatened her with a knife, pulled her hair, sought to choke her, hit her on the face, threatened her with a bottle of acid.
Records show the victim had withdrawn the complaints and sought to privately resolve issues with Ormandzhi.
