A scuba diver has been pulled from the water after getting into trouble at a popular snorkelling hotspot near Manly.

The woman in her 30s was rescued at Shelly Beach, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, before being rushed to hospital on Wednesday morning.

NSW Ambulance confirmed that they were called to the site just before 10.30am to report to the scuba diver in trouble, following reports she required urgent help.

A spokesperson told Daily Mail that the woman was transported to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.

Video footage published by The Daily Telegraph shows multiple NSW ambulance paramedics carrying her on a stretcher.

The incident comes after a newlywed drowned at the same beach on her honeymoon last month.

A teenage boy checked on the woman, believed to be from South Korea, after she was seen floating face down and motionless.

When she failed to respond, she was pulled from the water with locals trying to revive her on the beach.

Emergency services rushed to scene and attempted to treat her, but she could not be saved.

Soon afterwards, beachgoers said they had been traumatised by the tragedy.

‘I couldn’t sleep last night. Seeing her like that kept flashing into my mind. I’ve never seen a dead person before. It was awful,’ a mother said.

‘Her poor husband – when we were leaving, we just heard some man screaming and crying and wailing and realised that that must have been her husband.’
