Shedeur Sanders may be in the middle of a heated quarterback competition, and possibly a candidate to be cut this summer, but he loves playing for the Browns.

Sanders came to the Browns with much drama as he fell from one of the top projected players in last month’s NFL Draft to a fifth-round selection.

The Browns even drafted another quarterback ahead of Sanders in former Oregon star Dillon Gabriel. Alongside veterans Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco, Sanders will prove how he is worthy of playing time.

Yet, in his early days in Ohio, Sanders can’t help but smile as for what is to come as a Brown.

‘It’s lit. Quarterback room is fun. Every day is fun going in there,’ Sanders said on his YouTube channel. ‘Everything is real good, I’m happy.

‘We got a bunch of different personalities in the quarterback room, and just talking to the quarterbacks that took NFL snaps, that played in the league, you’re living the experience through them also and ask them whatever questions come to mind.’

Incumbent starter Deshaun Watson is expected to miss all of the 2025 season with an Achilles injury.

There is more than three months until the start of the NFL season, as its nearly guaranteed at least one of the quartet will not make the 53-man regular season roster, with a spot on the practice squad likely to be used.

Per Cleveland.com, Sanders will not enter training camp as the No 1 guy for the Browns.

‘It’s a tough call before we’ve even seen the first practice of organized team activities, but I know Kenny Pickett heads in as the frontrunner to win the starting job at the outset,’ longtime beat writer Mary Kay Cabot wrote earlier this month.

‘He’ll take the initial first-team reps in OTAs and probably the mandatory minicamp, and it seems like it’s his job to try to keep for now.’

At the first sign of turbulence for the Browns this season, another starting quarterback will be called upon, with Cleveland likely to avoid putting Gabriel or Sanders in the spotlight until they’re ready.
