Sharon Stone famously got her big break playing villains in Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 film Total Recall and his 1992 film Basic Instinct, and she just landed another baddie on the big screen.
The 66-year-old Oscar nominee just signed on to portray the main antagonist opposite Bob Odenkirk in Universal Pictures’ highly-anticipated action sequel Nobody 2, which is already scheduled to hit US/UK theaters on August 15, 2025.
Connie Nielsen is expected to return as the protagonist Hutch Mansell’s successful and emotionally-estranged wife Becca Mansell, whose character might also be harboring a secret past.
Ilya Naishuller’s 2021 original film Nobody – starring the 61-year-old comedian as a government assassin-turned-office worker battling Russian mobsters – had a modest budget of $16M and yet managed to amass $57.5M at the global box office.
Nobody impressively received a ‘certified fresh’ 83% critic approval rating (out of 290 reviews) and an even stronger 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Taking over directing duties is German-born Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto – who previously helmed The Big 4 (2022), V/H/S/94 (2021), and May the Devil Take You Too (2020).
Bob – who suffered a widow-maker heart attack in 2021 – spent two years transforming his 5ft9in form in the gym through John Wick-style stunt fight training with 87Eleven’s Daniel Bernhardt as well as firearm training at Taran Tactical.
‘I was totally against bulking up,’ Odenkirk told The Guardian in 2021.
‘I didn’t want to look like a superhero. I’ve had friends who do these superhero movies, and they do that kind of weight training, and it’s all about their biceps and all that s***. I said, “I want to do my own fighting, but I also want to look like a dad.”‘
The two-time Emmy-winning writer was inspired to executive produce and star in Nobody after his family suffered two break-ins at their Los Angeles home back in 2011.
‘It was very damaging,’ Bob explained.
‘There is a feeling, a residue that stuck with me very strongly, of what else could I have done? I wish I’d done more. If you look back with any perspective at all, you say, “Well, you did the right thing. You didn’t blow up the danger or make the interaction more damaging than it needed to be.” But you can’t help but think, “What else could I have done?”‘
Sharon and Odenkirk previously co-starred as agent Iris Burton and Tommy Wiseau’s method acting teacher, respectively, in James Franco’s 2017 critically-acclaimed biographical comedy, The Disaster Artist.
