Shannen Doherty ‘doesn’t regret’ not returning for the series finale of Charmed.
The 53-year-old actress — who recently shared she was preparing for her own death amid her cancer diagnosis — starred as Prue Halliwell on the supernatural drama series.
She reportedly left the show due to on-set and off-set tensions between herself and her co-stars Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano.
The actress has now admitted that the only thing reason she feels bad about not going back for the finale is because of the fans.
Speaking on her Let’s Be Clear podcast during a Q +A segment, she said ‘I regret it in one sense. I regret it for the fans. But I don’t regret it for me.’

‘I was so incredibly wrecked from getting fired that, I think, even years, years. Years later, had I walked on that set, and I think it just would’ve stirred everything back up for me. And it would’ve crushed me all over again,’ she said.
Towards the end of last year, Holly Marie claimed that show producer Jonathan Levin admitted to her that Alyssa was the reason Shannen left the show after three seasons.
She said: ‘We didn’t mean to, but we’ve been backed into this corner — we’re basically in this position where it’s one or the other. We were told [by Alyssa] it’s her or [Shannen], and Alyssa has threatened to sue us for a hostile workplace environment.’
But Shannen appeared to be dumbfounded by the accusations because she couldn’t recall ever being mean to her co-star during their time on the show.
She said: ‘I lived a year after that sort of replaying everything in my brain and really trying to find those moments. I don’t ever remember being mean to her on set.’
Back in February she fired back at claims that she was tearing down her co-stars saying, ‘Holly and I, we were not mean on the podcast — my podcast, Let’s Be Clear. In fact, we went in and we edited out anything that we felt would cause more drama.
‘We simply told the truth because the truth actually does matter. But we wanted to try to save you, the fans, from heartbreak as much as humanly possible.
‘At this point in my life with my health diagnosis — I’m sorry if I start crying — with fighting horrific disease every day of my life, it is also incredibly important to me that the truth actually be told as opposed to the narrative that others put out there for me,’ she added.
‘We told it together, we told our truths and we are standing by our truths,’ Doherty said of the claims she and Combs made on her podcast. ‘There is no revisionist history happening in the truth that I know we told. There is no lateness to set, there is no mediator for months on end. I recall the facts as if I was still living in them.’
Combs also took to Instagram at the time with a lengthy post saying she was ‘disappointed’ in Milano’s denials.
She wrote: ‘I feel the need to defend myself after the many continuing attacks that have ensued since Alyssa stepped out on the stage [at MegaCon] and essentially called Shannen and I liars.
‘Suffice to say I’m a little shocked and a little disappointed especially by the things she posted the next day while texting me simultaneously words to the contrary. Sadly that’s not as surprising anymore.’

‘I knew this was going to come up in one way or another, and I want to be very thoughtful in how I respond to any of this, and I will just say that I’m sad,’ Milano said at MegaCon Orlando; Alyssa pictured on February 02, 2024 in Orlando

Milano spoke on the topic earlier this year and said she was ‘sad’ about it while remaining vague on the validity of the claims.
‘I knew this was going to come up in one way or another, and I want to be very thoughtful in how I respond to any of this, and I will just say that I’m sad,’ she said at MegaCon Orlando 2024.
‘I don’t think it’s really that I’m sad for me or my life or how it does or does not affect my life,’ she said.
She said she was ‘most sad’ that the ‘toxicity’ from their show has continued even decades later.
‘I’m the most sad for the fans,’ she continued. ‘I am the most sad that a show that has meant so much to so many people has been tarnished by a toxicity that is still to this day almost a quarter of a century later still happening.’
