A Malibu woman was arrested on her balcony in a dramatic scene after she horrified her wealthy neighbors with a bow and arrow, according to police.
The 68-year-old, who has not been identified by officials, was accused of shooting arrows at people from her beachfront mansion in the 25000 block of Malibu Road on Wednesday.
Police were called to the scene in the millionaire conclave after a man reported the woman had shot an arrow at him before she retreated inside the home.
It was an unusual scene in the wealthy area, known for its vast beachfront mansions and many celebrity neighbors.
Neighbor Larry May told ABC 7 the woman ‘was not happy with the dogs that we sometimes have on the beach’ and ‘was shooting arrows at people.’
Negotiators, as well as the woman’s siblings, were on the scene trying to convince her to surrender.
But the nearly nine-hour standoff only ended when police entered the woman’s home and took her into custody on the balcony, officials said.

During the standoff, the woman was seen throwing her things out on the sand and screaming threats.
Police said the woman shot at two people with the bow and arrow, but they were not struck.

Neighbors said it was clear the woman was having some sort of mental health crisis.
The woman was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation.
Officials said they will work to determine whether she is booked into jail or taken to another medical facility.
It’s unclear if the woman owns the home, but police said she is ‘associated’ with it.

The woman’s neighbors said that it was not the first time she exhibited strange and threatening behavior.
Neighbor Carolina Cohen said she had exhibited similar behavior just days before her arrest.
‘This woman was screaming all kinds of obscenities, and then she started throwing all kinds of objects that she had inside the house,’ Cohen told ABC 7.
