A serial paedophile has been caught filming five-year-old boys and admitting he was having ‘sexualised dreams’ about his past vile offences while high on drugs.
Warren Graeme Hayter – who calls himself ‘The Caveman’ – has also been caught watching children’s television, as the sick reason why he is forbidden to do so has emerged.
Daily Mail can exclusively reveal that Hayter, one of ‘s most dangerous paedophiles who was jailed for molesting disabled children, has reoffended after yet again being let out of prison to live in the community under ‘strict supervision’.
In his latest string of offences, he admitted he had been smoking cannabis and reliving his previous crimes.
They include convictions as far back as 1984 for sexually assaulting boys as young as seven who were handicapped or from socially disadvantaged backgrounds in Queensland, NSW and South .
Warren Hayter has been caught with close-up images on his phone of pre-pubescent boys taken in The Strand Arcade in Sydney
Hayter has returned to prison 14 times since 2009 after breaching his release conditions with 29 offences.
Court documents state the 60-year-old has been diagnosed with ‘Paedophilic Disorder’ and ‘Hebephilic Disorder’, which means having a sexual interest in children aged 11-14.
His prison file reveals that he ‘requires 24-hour monitoring and has a record of escaping from prison’.
Police arrested Hayter when he was housed in temporary crisis accommodation in southwestern Sydney during his latest stint in the community.
Hayter was living in a two-storey brick flat 240m from a childcare and early learning centre in September and October.
An officer supervising Hayter’s Extended Supervision Order (ESO) found four deleted photographs and an encrypted message on his phone.
One of two photographs ‘depicted a close-up view of two pre-pubescent boys aged around 5-7 years old… walking in the company of two female adults in The Strand Arcade’ between September 1 and October 10 this year.
When the officer further searched Hayter’s phone, he found messages he had sent to a male using encrypted service RCS planning a meet-up, saying ‘Just ring me… it will be good to say hello to you. We’re [sic] will we meet’.
When the officer returned to Hayter’s flat on October 19, he watched through the bedroom window as Hayter turned off the TV. Hayter informed the officer he ‘had been having sexualised dreams related to his offending’.

Three days later, police arrested Hayter at the flat and while retrieving his hearing aid charger next to his bed, found a small plastic bag containing a gram of cannabis.
Asked how much he was smoking Hayter said ‘a lot’ and told them the TV show he had been watching was ‘Flushed’.
Flushed is an n children’s game show featuring kids aged 10-14 years. Watching it breached one of the multiple conditions of Hayter’s ESO.
Hayter has been banned from watching children’s TV shows ever since prison officers found material in his jail cell while he was attending a custodial sex offenders treatment program.
Hayter’s list contained names, physical descriptions and the schools of children taking part in a show.
Hayter’s history of serious sexual offences dates back to 1984, and involves ‘entrenched behaviour in seeking out young boys for sex’.
He is known to lurk in public spaces where boys are playing, and breach exclusion zones on his satellite tracking anklet and to evade surveillance.
While on prescribed anti-libidinal medication, Hayter once told his supervisors he was going to buy cough medicine from a pharmacy and instead deviated to a local children’s park.

One prison psychiatrist has warned that without anti-libidinal medication, Hayter’s chance of fairly rapid relapse was ‘very, very high’ and another, Dr Stephen Allnut, concluded it was not feasible to safely manage Hayter in the community ‘without almost constant supervision’.
When he reoffended in 2019, he was banned from playgrounds.
A five-year ESO imposed on him in 2009 has been suspended for 14 separate periods while he was returned to jail for breaches including drug use, associating with other convicted sex offenders and accessing pornographic material.
He has not committed a child sex offence since 2004, when he fondled the genitals of a 12-year-old boy in a Sydney park.
The victim was alone when Hayter approached him and began praising the boy’s football skills, his appearance and offering him $20.
Police say Hayter took and possess images of two boys, aged 5-7, who were in the Strand Arcade with two adult women between September 1 and October 10 this year
In the previous two decades, he committed more than 20 offences on boys aged from seven to 15, all of whom were strangers and often in public places.
His ESO supervisors have previously noted he has offended with an increasing degree of sophistication and grooming.
Convicted on four breaches of his ESO, including taking and possessing images of children, and possessing a prohibited drug, Hayter was sentenced to two years in prison but is due for release in October next year.
