After finding herself with extra breast milk on a trip to New York, tennis legend Serena Williams decided to donate it to mothers and babies in need.

Williams, 42, shared the story on her Instagram account on Wednesday. She showed a fridge where the milk was being stored, with a caption sharing how fulfilled she felt after the act.

‘On a recent trip to NY I had leftover breast milk,’ Williams captioned. ‘After going through a screening I was able to donate it instead of taking the milk home.

‘I know so many amazing women that adopt or are unable to make milk. It felt amazing. BTW Someone out there is getting some super soldier milk.’

The 23-time Grand Slam winner is a mother of two with her husband Alexis Ohanian. Their first daughter, Alexis Olympia, was born in September of 2017. Five years later, the family expanded with the birth of their second daughter Adira in August.

Earlier this month, Williams revealed that she used breast milk to help with her sensitive skin

‘I’m really excited to donate some breast milk that I have leftover from my trip in New York to people who really need it,’ Williams says in the video. ‘It’ll be anonymous but super excited to just help in some way.’

This is the second time in the past month that Williams and her breast milk made headlines.

On December 5, Williams shared a video in which she used breast milk under her eyes to help with sunburn.

‘It works for my kid, like they say “put breast milk on everything” and I had a lot of extra,’ Williams said in the clip. ‘I’m gonna try it for a week or so under my eye and see how it goes.’

After a week of using the alternative remedy, Williams revealed that it was effective.

‘Ok is this totally weird???’ Williams wrote in the caption. ‘I have to say after a week of using MY breast milk under my eye – it worked!’
