Selena Gomez has revealed whether she will return to the reboot of her star-making sitcom Wizards Of Waverly Place.

The original series ran from 2007 to 2012 on the Disney Channel and made a household name out of Selena, who played a teenage girl with magic powers.

This year, the franchise was revived with a sequel series called Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, which began airing on the Disney Channel last month.

Ushering viewers back into the world of the show, Selena guest starred on the reboot’s pilot episode as her old character Alex Russo from the original series.

Now the 32-year-old pop star, who is also an executive producer on the new show, has disclosed she will be back for one of the last two episodes.

She broke the news with a heartwarming behind-the-scenes Instagram album from the finale shoot, which appeared to have taken place in front of a studio audience.

Selena included a selfie with a crowd of children who looked as if they might be the audience, insofar as they were standing in front of tiered seats.

‘NOTHING will ever beat making little kids laugh… thank you @disneywizardsseries for making the little girl in me so happy!! Hope you guys watch!!’ she wrote.

Her carousel also featured a picture of herself on the sitcom set with David Henrie, who played her character’s brother Justin Russo on the original series.

David is part of the principal cast of the reboot, alongside new faces including Janice LeAnn Brown, 13, and Alkaio Thiele, 14, who were also in Selena’s album.

Selena first rocketed to fame on the original Wizards Of Waverly Place after landing her big break on Barney And Friends at the age of 10.

Although she still harbors warm feelings for the show that made her a child star, she recently revealed that she felt ‘stunted’ by being in showbiz from such a young age.

‘I have no regrets and I have a fantastic family and there were rules laid down by my parents and I’m appreciative of that,’ she told Elle.

‘However, I don’t think I would’ve done it very young if I was thinking of myself now. There were a lot of things that I felt stunted by,’ she confessed.

‘Then adding a lot of pressure from a lot of people didn’t help me develop a sense of self in my twenties. It was a very difficult time. I live with it every day.’

Selena, who is promoting her new Netflix comedy Emilia Perez, said: ‘I try my hardest to stay positive about everything and focus on things like this [movie] that really make me happy. But I would just say maybe wait and have a little bit of a life.’

Emilia Perez is a Spanish-language musical led by Karla Sofia Gascon as a cartel leader who pretends to die in order to undergo a gender transition into a woman.

It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to a burst of acclaim, including a joint best actress prize for Selena, Karla and their castmates Zoe Saldana and Adriana Paz.

After a limited theater release in the US and Canada in November 1, the movie bowed on Netflix this Wednesday to a warm response from the critics.
