Alert – Sean Hannity says he had a ‘hard time’ eating out in Big Apple due to being ‘hated’ by residents

Sean Hannity has revealed dining out in New York for him was ‘hard’ due to him being ‘hated’ by the city’s progressive populace.

The longtime Fox News host fled the Big Apple for a life in Florida late last year.

On Tuesday’s Hannity, he told former New York Mayor Bill De Blasio how it wasn’t just ‘high taxes, quality of life, [and] crime’ that made him permanently relocate.   

‘I had a hard time going to a restaurant in New York City because people would stare at me and hated me and they had daggers in their eyes,’ he said.

‘You know what? I’m loved down here in Florida. Now, I don’t know why New Yorkers are so intolerant, but that was my life in New York. So I left.’ 

‘I thought you left because of Brian Cashman and the Yankees,’ De Blasio – who served as the city’s Democrat mayor from 2014 to 2021, joked, referring to the long-languishing general manager of the New York Yankees.

‘No, I like Brian Cashman, actually,’ Hannity – who was born in New York City – responded. ‘I think he’s a pretty good guy.’    

Hannity now only ventures to Fox’s Midtown offices for live audience tapings. He runs his long-running radio show out of a studio in West Palm Beach. His three-bedroom, five-bathroom manse is two-and-a-half miles from Donald Trump’s in Mar-a-Lago.

 The 63-year-old used his show in January to announce that he would be making the move due to New York not aligning with his ‘values’, complaining about its tax brackets and ‘horrible school districts’.

‘Finally, for the first time that I can think of in my adult life, I actually have representatives in in the state that I’m living in that share my values,’ he said of Republican Governor Ron DeSantis and senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott.

‘So I’m feeling a lot better about it, and I’m not going to go through the whys and the hows because it’s obvious. 

‘This migration out of the blue states with high taxes, burdensome regulation, high crime, horrible school districts is real,’ he continued.

‘And if anything, I’m probably late and behind the curve.‘

He predicted more rich residents would leave states like New York and California to avoid what he framed as reparations to descendants of slaves and new wealth taxes.

Hannity said he was always jealous of his friends soaking up the sun while he endured grueling New York winters.

‘The weather’s better, the people are nicer,’ he said on-air. ‘I was walking around town and every person I met could not have been nicer to me.’

Since leaving, he’s been committed to going the distance as an interstate couple with fellow Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt, 47. The couple were in a secret relationship for years before it was first reported by DailyMail.com

He told De Blasio the same, and that he’s perfectly fine with the prospect of New York being run by Democratic Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.

‘Look, I’m perfectly fine with Mamdani winning,’ Hannity said. ‘You wanna know why? Because it’s not gonna impact my life. I left New York.’

Since leaving, he’s been committed to going the distance as an interstate couple with fellow Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt.

The couple were in a secret relationship for years before it was first reported by the Daily Mail last year.  

Earhardt, one of three hosts of NYC-based Fox & Friends, agreed to make regular trips to Hannity’s digs in Palm Beach, a source told the Daily Mail in January.

The two were spotted at the Colony Palm Beach Hotel in Florida the next month. They have since gotten engaged.

Hannity is the network’s best paid star and earns $25 million-a-year, according to Forbes. It is unclear how much Earhardt earns, but her salary likely runs into the millions.
