Ruby ace Stuart Hogg has split from his wife and enjoyed a spa weekend with his new lover – dubbed the ‘world’s sexiest jockey’ – just days after his ex gave birth to their fourth child, insiders have claimed.

The ex-British and Irish Lions star appeared in Leonna Mayor’s Instagram story on Monday at Moddershall Oaks Country Spa Retreat in Staffordshire – just hours after his ex Gillian Hogg announced the birth of their daughter Phoebe Anne.

Scotland’s all-time record try-scorer and former captain retired from the game earlier this year – and thanked his wife and ‘loving family’ for supporting him in his career.

But those close to the couple have claimed that the seven-year marriage has fallen apart.

It is unclear how Hogg, 31, and his apparent new lover Ms Mayor, 32, met – or when the pair first linked up – but residents in Hawick, Scotland, have reported seeing the duo ‘canoodling’ in a local pub.

A source close to Gillian told The Sun the mother-of-four is ‘heartbroken’ and seemingly disappointed that the ‘father of her children flaunting his new relationship on social media’.

‘She just can’t wrap her head around the timing of it all,’ the source added.

Stuart Hogg’s career

Former Scotland captain Stuart Hogg retired from rugby union with immediate effect in July this year.

Hogg represented Scotland at two World Cups, became their all-time leading try-scorer in 2021 and played exactly 100 times for his country.

He also featured on three British and Irish Lions tours.

Hogg racked up almost 200 appearances for his two clubs, Glasgow Warriors and Exeter Chiefs.

During his club career he won the Premiership and European Champions Cup.

When announcing on Sunday that Phoebe had been born on November 7, Gillian failed to mention Hogg, writing ‘the final piece to my little family’.

Former flat jockey Ms Mayor posted a selfie with Hogg on Instagram with the caption: ‘The least Mondayest Monday ever.’

Another source told The Sun that Hogg and Gillian’s marriage broke down when they moved back to their hometown.

Full-back Hogg racked up exactly 100 appearances for Scotland and played 11 Tests for the Lions. He captained both teams.

During his glittering career, he also played for Glasgow Warriors and Exeter Chiefs, massing almost 200 appearances across both.

In announcing his retirement in July, which meant he did not feature in a third Ruby World Cup, he said: ‘It is difficult where to start but with great sadness and an enormous amount of pride, I am announcing my immediate retirement from playing rugby.

‘I fought with everything I had to make the Rugby World Cup but this time my body has not been able to do the things I wanted and needed it to do. We knew this day would come eventually, I just never thought it would be this soon.
