The RSPCA is hunting a man after a ginger cat was taped up in a pet carrier and hurled over a fence into someone’s garden.
A man was captured on CCTV close to the incident in Basildon, Essex, on February 20 and the charity is now appealing for witnesses.
The three-year-old cat was found inside the carrier by a member of the public in their garden on Victoria Road at 4.15pm.
The person contacted the RSPCA after they spotted the pet carrier which was taped up and wrapped in a bin bag.
The charity believes that the man, who is described as white, wearing glasses, a dark jacket and light blue t-shirt, could hold vital information in connection with the incident.

He arrived in the area on a bike, and a photo of him has been released.
The cat, which wasn’t microchipped or wearing a collar, was taken to Medivet Laindon.
A foster carer was found to look after the cat whilst the RSPCA makes enquiries.
Animal Rescue Officer (ARO) Michael Harrington, who is investigating, said: ‘It appears this poor cat was thrown over a fence and dumped in someone else’s garden.

‘Thankfully, a member of the public spotted what had happened and went out and was shocked to find the cat at the bottom of their garden.
‘The carrier had been taped-up and wrapped in a bin bag and inside the carrier was a bag for life with the cat hiding underneath the bag.
‘The kind member of the public took him straight to a vet where he had a full check over.
‘Thankfully, he doesn’t have any injuries, but the vet explained that he has clearly been very stressed by the experience.’
