A resurfaced sketch has shown Richard Hammond’s wife Mindy becoming increasingly frustrated at her husband after the couple announced their split on Thursday.
Mindy is understood to have filed for divorce from the Top Gear star after 28-years of marriage and in a clip from his former programme Mid-Life Crisis in 2020, she evidently cannot hide her irritation at Richard’s behaviour.
In the funny scene the pair are dressed up to head to a party as Richard takes the wheel of a Ford Ranger Raptor luxury pick up truck.
Discussing the many features of the vehicle, Mindy is seen becoming increasingly bored as she barks: ‘Are you going to talk like this all evening?’
Richard then replies: ‘Darling I’m just talking about some of the sophisticated features of my sophisticated new truck as we go to our sophisticated party… Sophicatedly.’
Failing to see the funny side, she bluntly responds: ‘Whatever,’ yet Richard ignores her irritated manner as he annoyingly continues: ‘Because I’m sophisticated. I have a bow tie. Which I tied myself.’

‘Yes dear, you can tell,’ adds Mindy.
Later in the video, Richard decides to test the vehicles off-road abilities and embarks on a ‘shortcut’ through bumpy terrain and muddy waters while Mindy attempts to apply her mascara.
Pulling up at the house ready for their ‘sophisticated party,’ Mindy is left looking dishevelled from the journey with her hair blown everywhere and makeup smeared on her face.
Richard then asks: ‘Shall I tell them you will be in in a minute? Two minutes? Why are you grinding your teeth?’
The comedic clip has resurfaced after Mindy previously warned that Richard was on his ‘last chance’, eight years before the couple announced their marriage was over.
According to the The Sun, Mindy demanded the divorce after a source claimed she ‘wanted him gone’.
A source told the publication: ‘Richard is very upset about all this. It seems he has tried hard to rekindle the relationship but to no avail. There is no speculation that any third party is involved.’
Richard married Mindy in 2002 after they first met back in 1995, with the presenter previously sharing that there was an instant attraction between them.

In 2017, Mindy publicly warned her husband that he will have to quit TV if he crashes his car badly again – after he was involved in a second high-speed crash.
Richard was filming for his show The Grand Tour in Switzerland when the car he was driving crashed and repeatedly flipped over. It caught fire moments after he managed to escape it.
In 2006 he also suffered life-threatening head injuries and was in a coma following a high-speed crash as he filmed for BBC’s Top Gear.
Mindy flew to be at her husband’s bedside after he careered off the Swiss hillside and said: ‘I did say three strikes and you’re out. You’ve had two goes.’
Appearing on ITV’s This Morning, Mindy said: ‘He has one of these every ten years so I’ve marked the next one in my diary.’
Richard has repeatedly apologised to his wife and two daughters for putting them through more trauma.
Mindy said: ‘I’ve got teenage daughters and a nine-year-old man’.
After the Swiss crash, he said that he believed he might die when his car flew off the mountain.

Mindy has reportedly kicked the Top Gear star out to sleep in the castle’s barn in the wake of the split as she wants to keep their £7million Bollitree Castle estate in Hertfordshire
Richard is reportedly staying at a rented property in a nearby village where he runs his ‘Smallest Cog’ car restoration garage
The presenter was in a coma for two weeks following the accident, but made a full recovery.
Richard shared on Thursday that he and his spouse had split after 28 years of marriage, writing in a statement they will ‘always be in each other’s lives.’
He penned: ‘A little update from us; this Christmas we were together as a family and this year we will still be a family but just structured a bit differently.
‘Our marriage is coming to end, but we’ve had an amazing 28 years together and two incredible daughters.
‘We will always be in each other’s lives and are proud of the family we created.
‘We won’t be commenting further and sincerely hope that our privacy and that of our children will be respected at this time. With Love, Richard and Mindy.’

Last year, Richard hinted at tensions in the marriage when he gave fans a tour and admitted he had broken her one golden rule.
The presenter said he had managed to ‘sneak’ his prized motorbike collection back into the space after it was ‘decided’ they had to be removed.
Revealing Mindy doesn’t go in the barn, he said: ‘My wife swears blind it is haunted and so it is more for me and the chaps.’
