Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Bronwyn Newport revealed she spent Christmas in the ICU as she supported her mother through a medical emergency.
Sharing the news via Instagram on Thursday, the fashionista, 39, explained that her mother underwent emergency surgery just days before the holidays after doctors discovered a brain tumor at the back of her skull.
‘I am so scared and worried, but my mom has helped so many over the years. And refused help for herself always,’ she wrote. ‘It is an honor to get to be the one who is here.’
The reality star expressed hope for her mother’s recovery, adding, ‘We are so hopeful after a long recovery, she’ll be her usual, feisty and amazing self.’
Bronwyn shared that her mother had been treated for a tumor in a nearly identical location almost 30 years ago and had been in good health until recently.
Over the past month, her mother had grown ‘exhausted and frail’ while caring for Newport’s father, who has Alzheimer’s and broke his pelvis in a fall this November.

‘I spent all afternoon with her in the ER, and then Christmas Eve too,’ Bronwyn wrote. ‘I went home that night to be with my dad and one of his wonderful caregivers. Thank goodness you can get pizza delivery for three delivered on Christmas Eve night!’
The medical emergency caused Bronwyn to miss her Christmas with husband Todd Bradley and 18-year-old daughter Gwen.
‘Super thank goodness Todd and Gwen adore each other enough to celebrate with makeshift Christmas Eve and Day plans without me!’ she said.
Bronwyn ended her post with a candid tip to fans caring for loved ones in the hospital.
‘Your own socks are way better than hospital socks,’ she calimed.
‘And my mom taught me nothing feels better than good lotion and foot rub and a fresh clean socks when everything else hurts.’
As of Friday morning, the Bravolebrity has yet to provide an update on her mother’s condition.
The holiday emergency comes after Bronwyn revealed details of the shock dog attack that left her with 37 puncture wounds in April.

Thankfully, a Good Samaritan nearby witnessed the incident and rushed to help, pulling the dog off her.
Bronwyn was later hospitalized, where doctors found 37 puncture wounds and a hairline fracture in her bicep caused by the bite, according to People.
