Republicans are charging ahead with their impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden in 2024 despite the White House’s insistence they have ‘no evidence.’
During the last week of December, top Republicans called up James Biden’s former business associate Michael Lewitt to testify. They say the interview will be critical into their probe into whether President Joe Biden profited off his son and brother’s business dealings.
Republicans insist Lewitt has additional information regarding a $200,000 ‘loan payment’ check to Joe from his brother James, which they allege came shortly after a lucrative Americore business deal.
Lewitt was also sued by the SEC in September for allegedly duping investors out of millions of dollars through his Third Friday Management fund.
Due to the scathing SEC allegations and Lewitt’s ‘involvement with Americore’ and ‘relationship’ with James Biden, he must come before Congress said House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., and House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio.
But the White House is maintaining that Joe had no involvement in his son Hunter’s or brother James’ deals.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on MSNBC Tuesday that Republicans still have ‘no evidence’ to impeach the president.

Despite not being a public health consultant or medical expert, James Biden was hired by Americore as the health care startup was trying to build hospitals in rural America as his brother was leaving the vice presidency.
‘There is no evidence,’ said Jean-Pierre when asked by host Jonathan Lemire. ‘It is not just coming from Democrats. It is coming from Republicans, as well. There is no there there.’
‘It is so unfortunate that Republicans in Congress want to focus on the president’s family instead of the American family,’ she continued, saying the White House wants to ‘work with them in a bipartisan way to get things done.’
But the White House is sure to face more questions surrounding Joe’s connections amid his son Hunter’s many legal woes – as he is expected to appear in court next week.
In September, federal prosecutors indicted Hunter on illegal gun charges that have a maximum sentence of 25 years in jail.
And earlier in December, nine new criminal charges were filed against Hunter by the Department of Justice for allegedly spending millions on ‘drugs, prostitutes and exotic cars’ while avoiding paying $1.4 million in taxes over four years.
The first son will appear in court for his arraignment on the new tax charges on January 11, only four days before the Iowa caucuses.
In a letter to Lewitt last week, Comer and Jordan state: ‘The Committees are interested in your involvement with Americore and your relationship with James Biden.’
‘In particular, the Committees seek information you possess regarding your business dealings with both Americore and James Biden, including, but not limited to, the ‘loans’ that James Biden received from the financially struggling company.’
Americore Trustee Carol Fox sat for an interview with the Oversight Committee less than a week after a House vote to formally authorize their impeachment inquiry on December 13.
Despite not being a public health consultant or medical expert, James Biden was hired by Americore – as the health care startup was trying to build hospitals in rural America as his brother was leaving the vice presidency.
But unfortunately for Americore, James Biden and his connections fell flat.
The company imploded in 2019, filing for bankruptcy amid a pile of lawsuits and a federal investigation into fraud allegations. Americore also accused Jim Biden of failing to repay $600,000 in loans.
Fox has sued James Biden claiming he made ‘representations that his last name, ‘Biden,’ could ‘open doors’ and that he could obtain a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections.’
Fox alleged James Biden helped procure ‘an ill-advised bridge loan from a hedge fund that had a deleterious impact on the financial affairs of the Debtor and ultimately forced Debtors into bankruptcy, as [James Biden] never delivered the promised large investment from the Middle East.’
Jim Biden last year repaid Americore $350,000 to settle the lawsuit – though his lawyers said he played no role in the company’s demise and that he had received the money for consulting work, not loans, as the Fox had alleged as the trustee.
According to one source familiar with the interview, Fox identified no services rendered by James Biden to Americore – and that Americore provided a ‘loan’ to James Biden with no documentation in return for a promise of funding from the Middle East that never came.
Another source with direct knowledge of the interview insisted Fox said she had no evidence of Joe Biden being involved in his brother’s business and she said she believed the settlement was fair and equitable.
According to bankruptcy court documents, James Biden took money from his health care business Americore and sent it directly to his brother Joe Biden.
The documents show that in 2018, James Biden obtained $600,000 in loans from Americore. James was able to receive the loans based upon ‘representations’ that his last name, ‘Biden,’ could ‘open doors.’
On March 1, 2018, Americore wired a $200,000 loan into the personal bank account of James and Sara Biden.

That same day, James Biden wrote a $200,000 check to ‘Joseph R. Biden’ from his personal account for a ‘loan repayment.’ At the time, Joe had already left the vice presidency position.
Democrats point to bank records showing that weeks earlier Joe had lent James the exact same amount in a wire transfer.
But Republicans say that nothing in that wire said ‘loan’ or ‘Joe Biden’ and there is no definitive answer about which exact account the money came from.
Republicans leading the investigation into the Biden family’s ‘influence peddling scheme’ that is the center of their impeachment inquiry into the president, say this personal check directly shows Joe was aware of – and included in – his family’s dealings.
