Red Wiggle Caterina Mete has opened about her IVF journey.
Fans of the 43-year-old children’s entertainer were overjoyed when she took to her social media in February to announce she was expecting identical girls.
And now Caterina, who is single, has discussed why she decided to share intimate details about her pregnancy.
Appearing on the Something to Talk About podcast on Saturday the dancer and performer was asked about why she decided to reveal she used an anonymous donor.
‘I’m a pretty open and honest person,’ Carterina explained during the podcast.

She continued: ‘So it was something that I was never ashamed about. I was quite happy to tell people this is how I did it and, by being honest, you realise a lot of people have done it this way, too.’
Caterina added that there were times she struggled with the process.
‘It was tough. You [have] moments when you cry. You’re like, I don’t have a partner, it’s just me, how am I going to do it?’ she said.
‘And then you just go, Stop. Just do it. What are you waiting for? I’m older. I can’t be waiting any longer because that’s just unfortunately how the body is’

In an emotional admission, Caterina opened up about how she miscarried during an earlier pregnancy after taking IVF treatment.
‘That was hard to deal with, but it’s amazing how many women go through it and obviously they don’t like to talk about it because it’s so hard and horrible,’ she said.
After being left with a single embryo Caterina had the treatment once again and is now expecting twin girls.
It comes after Caterina took to Instagram in February to announce the joyous news she was expecting telling fans she ‘could not wait to be a mum’.
In the clip, a beaming Caterina debuted her bump while dressed in her red skivvy.

After announcing the news the children’s entertainer said she always dreamed of being a mum
‘Hey, everyone. I’ve got some exciting news to share with you all. I’m pregnant with twin girls!’ the professional dancer beamed, holding up two child-sized Red Wiggle costumes.
‘I’m due later in the year, but I wanted to share this news with you now now, as I’ll be seeing many of you at the upcoming Wiggles shows… and as you can see, my girls are already starting to make an appearance,’ she joked, cradling her blossoming bump.
Reflecting on her exciting news in a press release, Caterina said: ‘Becoming a mother has always been a dream of mine. I feel overwhelmingly blessed to share that I am expecting two beautiful little miracles.’

‘This journey has been challenging, but filled with so much love and support. I am immensely grateful for the incredible team at my fertility clinic and the technology that has made this possible.’
Caterina went on to say she can’t wait to meet her bundles of joy and begin this new chapter of her life.
She concluded by thanking her Wiggles colleagues for their ‘unwavering support’ during her pregnancy journey.
