A desperate family search effort is continuing into the disappearance of a father who left home a week ago while leaving his wallet and phone behind.

Geoff Rayner, 53, vanished from Tugun, Queensland, on his way to the NSW border at 10:30am on May 8.

Mr Rayner’s partner Carmel May has been updating family and friends in the Gold Coast via Facebook but so far there has been no solid trace of him.

He was last seen driving a white Prado Rego towards the NSW Hinterland and Ms May said once his car is located the SES is ready to launch a full search.

Mr Rayner has a grey beard and hair, a strong build, is white and wears prescription glasses.

‘As you can imagine I am not in the best state right now and am struggling to respond to everyone but please know I see and appreciate you all,’ she wrote.

‘Geoff has never left me for this long without telling me his whereabouts , especially without a phone and wallet.

‘Hold your loved ones a little closer tonight and never ever forget to tell them you love them.’

Ms May believes Mr Rayner was initially heading to the NSW Hinterland, but after days of no contact she conceded that he ‘could be anywhere by now’.

NSW and Queensland Police are actively involved in the search and have been using CCTV footage in an attempt to trace the journey of Mr Rayner’s vehicle.

Ms May’s plan is to spread her posts as far as she can through community pages and on the news.

On Sunday, a page called the n Missing Persons Register shared Mr Rayner’s information with more locations that he might have passed through.

‘If you are in the area around Gilgurry Forest, east of Stanthorpe, it’s possible Geoff might have headed to this location, possibly via Lismore and Casino, please look for his car and contact police immediately if you have seen him,’ the post read.

‘His family and friends are absolutely frantic with worry and his partner Carmel says “He is my world”.’

Ms May has launched an online community in order to track her partner down which she said has yielded multiple sightings of the white Prado Rego Mr Rayner was last seen in

Mr Rayner’s Prado Rego has a large black bullbar, two spotlights, a light bar and two black antennas as well as a dent in the rear driver side door.

Ms May spent Mother’s Day with her daughter and family from interstate responding to the waves of notifications her search is turning up online.

She said that she has been in contact with people who claimed to have seen Mr Rayner on the roads and that she is feeling optimistic about finding him.

‘We have met a ton of people that have seen these posts, they are being shared absolutely everywhere,’ Ms May wrote.

‘I personally want to thank my aunt and brother who have flown interstate to help with the search and my two amazing daughters, daughter in law and son in law who have taken time off from work, lived on no sleep, handed out flyers and drove thousands of kilometres.

‘My daughters have given up their Mothers Day to be in an interstate motel only to wake and return back to our search. I am so blessed to have you and love you all more than you know.’
