Up to 50,000 fares to the United States have been slashed with the launch of a brand new Qantas direct flight.
Fares have been discounted across Qantas from Tuesday after the Flying Kangaroo launched a seven day North and South America Red Tail Sale.
Economy return flights from Sydney start at $1,199 for Los Angeles, with other fares including $1,599 to Vancouver, $1,699 to New York, and $1,999 to Santiago.
The sale comes after Qantas announced direct flights from Melbourne to Honolulu in a move that will bring in 40,000 extra seats to Hawaii per year.
Economy return fares for the new flight route begins at $1,049, with flights set to take off three times per week with an Airbus A330 aircraft from early May 2025.
Qantas chief executive officer international Cam Wallace said he’s ‘thrilled’ to announce the direct flights, which will bring a ‘new, tropical destination to our Melbourne customers’.
Travel periods for the sale fares begin from October 2024 to June 2025, with flights including checked baggage, complimentary food and beverages and seat selection.
