A pensioner has died in hospital a week after being stabbed in the neck in a quiet Norfolk village.
The victim – a man in his 80s – was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and later transferred to the West Suffolk Hospital where he died later that day.
Emergency services were called to Main Street in Hockwold, Norfolk just before 9am on February 29 to reports that a man had been stabbed in the neck.
Ashley Francis, 26, of King’s Lynn was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with attempted murder.

He was remanded in custody and appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court on Saturday.
He is due to appear at Norwich Crown Court on Tuesday.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and are liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service.
