Pedro Pascal came under fire on Sunday after publicly voicing his support of Rachel Zegler amid severe backlash, which led to the humiliating flop of Disney’s Snow White.
The Chilean silver fox – turning 50 this Wednesday – Instastoried a picture of the half-Colombian 23-year-old captioned: ‘@rachelzegler #icon.’
Marc Webb’s ‘PC’ live-action remake of the classic 1937 animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs has earned $143.1M at the global box office since opening March 21 after reportedly costing at least $350M to make and market.
Snow White currently has a dismal 41% critic approval rating (out of 233 reviews) but managed a decent 74% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes while it plummeted to 1.6 out of 10 (from 266K ratings) on IMDb.
Over on X, users like @Diamondneedle18 pointed out that Pedro and Rachel’s ‘paychecks have the same logo on them’ – Disney.
‘They both work for Disney. They both receive money from Disney,’ X user @duncan_portal tweeted.

‘The platform they have is thanks to Disney. What exactly do they mean by “Icon?” Working for the company whose practices they claim to despise? I think I’ve lost the plot.’
X user @ArmoredRoar6 scoffed: ‘Lol. Icon? No, how bout “fired,” how bout “blacklisted,” how bout failure, moron, imbecile. Call her what she is, not what your deluded Hollywood echo chamber wishes she was.’
‘Pedro’s mouth is gonna tank the Fantastic Four,’ X user @LanSharty wrote.

Several people dragged Pascal for not supporting his Mandalorian co-star Gina Carano – who was fired off their Disney+ show in 2021 for comparing Republicans to Jews in the Holocaust, denying the results of the 2020 presidential election, and being an anti-masker.
‘Remember when he threw Gina Carano under the bus,’ X user @TheMagaHulk tweeted.

‘Did Pedro Pascal ever publicly support @ginacarano after Disney fired her?’ X user @GydaRagnarsdot1 tweeted. ‘Because that would actually be impressive.’
The 42-year-old MMA champ – who played Marshal of Nevarro Cara Dune in the first two seasons – subsequently sued Disney, Lucasfilm, and Huckleberry Industries for wrongful dismissal and sex discrimination, and the trial is set to begin on September 25.
By contrast, the three-time Emmy nominee has never worked with Rachel but he evidently loved her Golden Globe-winning performance as Maria in Steven Spielberg’s 2021 remake of West Side Story.

Back in 2022, Zegler wished Pedro a happy 47th birthday, calling him ‘love personified.’
Pascal – who deactivated his Twitter account in 2022 after Elon Musk bought the platform – replied: ‘4 witnesses that saw me burst into tears when your Maria appeared on screen.’
The New Jersey native responded with an excited: ‘Aaaaaaand *screech*!’
Rachel’s casting as the Disney princess was criticized ‘for being brown,’ and she raised eyebrows by criticizing the 1937 original animated film as ‘extremely dated when it comes to the ideas of women being in roles of power and what a woman is fit for in the world.’
‘The original cartoon came out in 1937, and very evidently so,’ Zegler scoffed to Extra TV in 2022.
‘There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird. So we didn’t do that this time.’
The outspoken Zoomer got into even hotter water after refusing to take down a pro-Palestinian tweet and she was forced to apologize for her comments following the November 5th re-election of President Donald Trump.
‘May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace,’ Rachel tweeted at the time.
