He may have been known as the Prince of Darkness on stage, but Ozzy Osbourne seemed to radiate sunshine when he was with his grandchildren.
Lisa Stelly, the ex-wife of Osbourne’s son Jack, paid tribute to the late rocker, whom she knew as ‘papa,’ in a sweet set of photos shared to Instagram on Thursday following his death on Tuesday at 76.
Jack, who recently revealed what his father said to him following his final concert, shares three children with his ex Lisa: daughters Pearl, 13; Andy, 10; and Minnie, seven.
He also shares his three-year-old daughter Maple with his current wife Aree Gearhart, whom he tied the knot with in 2023.
Although Lisa’s marriage to Ozzy’s son didn’t work out, she didn’t seem to harbor any animosity toward the Black Sabbath frontman as she looked back on the monumental presence he had in her family’s life with adorable snaps of him beaming with delight as his grandkids.
‘The world got Ozzy. We got Papa,’ she wrote, calling him ‘One of one’ and ‘Larger than life.’

In addition to sharing Ozzy’s adorable moments with his grandkids, Lisa highlighted his strong relationship with animals, particularly cats.
In one short clip, her cute cat curled up comfortably on the singer’s chest as he joked, ‘She’s a good-looking vermin.’
That appreciation for animals let People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to pay tribute to Osbourne shortly after his death.

PETA slammed over Ozzy Osbourne tribute praising his love for animals: 'Bats would like a word'
However, the animal welfare organization was inundated by mocking comments from fans who joked that ‘Bats would like a word,’ referencing an incident 43 years ago in which Osbourne bit the head off a bat on stage.
However, he has for decades expressed regret over the incident, which he said occurred after a fan through the flying rodent on stage.
According to Ozzy, he thought the bat was just a rubber toy, so he playfully bit down, only to realize that it was quite real.
In his later years he mused that the incident would never stop following him.
‘Whatever else I do, my epitaph will be: “Born December 3, 1948. Died, whenever. And he bit the head off a bat,”‘ he said, ruefully.

There wasn’t any hint of Ozzy’s dark stage person in the behind-the-scenes snaps with his granddaughters
