alert-–-nypd-will-revoke-donald-trump’s-gun-permit-after-conviction-in-hush-money-trialAlert – NYPD will REVOKE Donald Trump’s gun permit after conviction in hush money trial

The NYPD will be revoking former President Donald Trump’s gun permit on the heels of his 34-count conviction last week.

A jury convicted the ex-president last Thursday for falsifying business records over payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee will now lose his gun permit, according to ABC News.

It was suspended after Trump was indicted by the Manhattan district attorney last year. It remains unclear when the NYPD will make the move.

Under New York state and federal law, convicted felons aren’t permitted to possess any kind of firearm.

As a former president, Trump is under constant guard by the Secret Service and has no real need for a firearm – but it will still come as a blow to his civil liberties.

Trump is set to be sentenced on July 11 – and must turn over any guns before then.

The ex-president is in step with the Republican Party in being a strong proponent of Second Amendment rights.

He said in a 2012 interview with Emily Miller for The Washington Times that he had a concealed carry permit for a Heckler & Koch HK45 and a .38-caliber Smith & Wesson.

Trump would be able to regain the guns if his appeal is successful.

The ex-president received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association last month in Texas.

At the event, he said that rival, President Joe Biden, would take away members’ guns if the Democrat wins reelection.

‘They want to take away your rights. I know that better than anybody. They want want to take away my rights better than anybody…worse than Alphonse Capone. Al Capone was indicted twice,’ he said.

Besides his conviction, Trump has been indicted in three additional criminal cases.

None of those are expected to go to trial ahead of Election Day in November.

Trump was indicted in Fulton County, Georgia over interfering in the 2020 election.

He was also indicted by Special Counsel Jack Smith over 2020 election interference and mishandling classified documents.
