A married NYPD detective and her younger cop boyfriend have both been charged with assault after a brawl broke out between the pair, DailyMail.com can reveal.
Veteran Melissa Negron, 42, showed up at Edgard De Los Santos’s Manhattan apartment at 3am on June 10 and found him with another woman.
Police reports seen by DailyMail.com state Negron claims that De Los Santos answered the door, yelling ‘what the f*** are you doing here’, and punched her in the face before pulling her by the hair to the floor.
The complaint went on to accuse the 27-year-old of kicking and punching her ‘multiple times’ to the ‘face, ribs, chest, head and back’, before hitting her with a wooden chair.
When she started yelling for help, she claims that De Los Santos told her to ‘shut up because the police were there’, and then continued to ‘twist her lips’ and punch her.
De Los Santos is also accused of pressing his fingers into her eyes, and causing ‘multiple lacerations and contusions to her face head, body and back’.
Sources told DailyMail.com that Negron had been having an affair with the younger officer, and allegedly discovered him with another woman, sparking the brutal early morning brawl.
‘She was jealous that he was with someone else, but she is married to a lieutenant herself’, the source added.
‘She is married and had the nerve to be upset that her partner was at his house with another female.
‘She goes to his house upset and both get into a crazy brawl. She has a broken jaw and possible broken ribs – you can’t make this s*** up.’
Social media posts show that Negron celebrated her ten-year wedding anniversary with her husband on June 1.
Posting several loved up photos with her husband, Luis Negron, 43, with the caption ‘Anything worth having takes time.. celebrating ten years of marriage’, adding a heart emoji.
Despite the public posts of love, sources told DailyMail.com that her husband was blindsided by the affair – which only came to light after his wife was arrested.
Negron is a decorated officer, who received two excellent police duty awards in 2007 and 2010.
Despite the allegations, Negron has been charged with third degree assault and second degree harassment.
De Los Santos faces the same charges as well as two counts of criminal posseeeion of a weapon.
Negron has worked for the force for 19 years.
De Los Santos has worked for the NYPD for four years, with the pair thought to have met while both employed at the 44th precinct.
Both have been suspended without pay pending an investigation into the allegations.
Neither Negron nor De Los Santos immediately responded to requests for comment by DailyMail.com.
