It’s been a week to remember for Peppa Pig and her family following the birth of baby Evie on Tuesday.
And in a continuation of the marketing phenomenon that has surrounded the cartoon swines during Mummy Pig’s pregnancy, there is a newly released song to mark the family milestone.
My New Sibling Evie! has been released on Spotify and YouTube, reaching 161,833 views on the latter in less than two days.
Spotify have been busy promoting the track on their social media channels with a ‘behind the scenes’ video on Instagram showing Peppa recording the song at the London HQ.
Excitable fans have commented on the post, declaring: ‘I need a Peppa Pig Eras Tour so badly’ whilst others admitted: ‘100% chance this will be on our Wrapped this year.’

Fans have demanded Peppa embarks on a Taylor Swift-style Eras tour to bring her four albums to the masses
The song is just the latest marketing ploy for the cartoon, which has pulled off a jaw-dropping PR campaign in recent months.
Mummy Pig’s pregnancy was first announced in a Good Morning Britain exclusive in February, with Showbiz Correspondent Richard Arnold conducting a live interview with the family matriarch who zoomed in from Peppatown.
An exclusive in Grazia Magazine followed, with Mummy Pig flaunting her baby bump in a glossy spread and delighting fans with her pregnancy tell-all, with highlights including her peanut butter and pickle sandwich craving.
The cartoon tapped into the influencer trend for a gender reveal party by hosting an event at Battersea Power Station, with the London landmark’s iconic towers lit up pink to reveal the big news.
The party also heralded the launch of the world’s first-ever permanent Peppa Pig store, with fans able to snap up a selection of the 12,000 separate branded items the cartoon has merchandised over 20 years.
In what the team behind the pigs have dubbed ‘a whole new era’ fans can also enjoy the family on the big screen from next week, expertly timed for schools’ half term break, with Peppa Meets the Baby – a brand-new cinema experience which is being rolled out in over 2,600 cinemas across 19 countries.
All the fanfare has led up to this week’s birth, which played on another cultural phenomenon as Mummy and Daddy Pig welcomed baby Evie in Kate Middleton’s favoured maternity hospital – London’s Lindo Wing.
The birth was announced with a royal-inspired twist on the classic birth announcement, complete with a town crier, a scroll-style proclamation, and the unveiling of an official Peppa Pig birth certificate.

And to celebrate, the new family of five have even taken part in an ‘at home’ interview with Hello! Magazine.
Peppa Pig first aired in 2004 and has since been broadcast in 180 territories and translated into 40 languages. It’s spawned books, toys and even two theme parks, with the global Peppa empire now worth over £1billion.
Creators Neville Astley and Mark Baker admitted they were worried the idea would never get off the ground, and that people were initially bored of the idea.
People in the pub would ask us, “What are you drawing?” We’d say, “A pig, called Peppa, it’s going to be big.” They’d lose interest and wander off’, explained Astley.
The pair created Peppa and her family working in each other’s houses or at the local pub.
They told the Radio Times they were inspired by 1970s cartoon classics including Roobarb and Pingu, after realising that children ‘like stories about animals’.

We’d made this little trailer for Peppa but hadn’t got anywhere,’ recalled Baker.
‘It’s very difficult to sell your own creative work. The good thing about Phil is he’s quite thick-skinned.’
They soon found an energetic little girl, Lily Snowden-Fine, to voice Peppa – despite her being only four years-old and unable to read, instead repeating lines spoken by her mother.
When her family moved to Canada, the job went to Cecily Bloom, followed by current incumbent Harley Bird.
The creators explained that the secret to Peppa’s long-lasting appeal is the show’s simplicity, as well as ensuring the piglet is never the butt of the jokes.
‘We put a lot of work into making everything look as effortless as possible, said Baker.
‘We can laugh at the adults, but children don’t like it if we laugh at the children in the show.’
All new episodes of Peppa Pig will be launching on Milkshake from September.
