Noah Lyles is an Olympic champion for the very first time after storming home to glory in the men’s 100m final.
Lyles, who had to settle for second place in his semifinal earlier in the day, swept up his first Olympic gold with a time of 9.79 seconds.
It marks the greatest moment of the 27-year-old’s career, following on from a bronze medal at the Tokyo Games in 2021.
