New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers was arrested Saturday morning on charges of assault, battery, strangulation and drug possession.
Braintree police announced details of the arrest on Monday morning, following an altercation between two people at a home, which led to cops being called.
Peppers, who is the Patriots’ starting safety and one of the team’s captains, is expected to be charged with assault and battery, assault and battery with a deadly weapon, strangulation, and possession of a Class B drug that police believe was cocaine.
Police also revealed that a victim was treated at the scene.
Peppers did not play in Sunday’s loss to the Miami Dolphins with a shoulder injury, and his future status is unclear.
He is due to be arraigned on Monday in Quincy District Court, but no further details have yet been released.
