One Day fans have slammed Netflix for a ‘massive spoiler alert’ after the streaming giant made a major faux pas on a social media post to celebrate St Swithin’s Day.
The 14-part series first launched on February 8 and stars Ambika Mod, 28, as Emma Morley and Leo Woodall, 27, as Dexter Mayhew.
An adaptation of the 2009 best-selling novel by David Nicholls, the popular rom-com – which has amassed millions of views – follows Emma and Dexter who met on their last day of university on July 15, 1988.
Each episode of One Day revisits the pair on that same date, called St Swithin’s Day, over the years.
St Swithin’s Day, according to folklore, predicts the weather for the following days – meaning that if it rained on July 15, it will for the next 40 days and 40 nights.

One Day author David Nicholls pays tribute to the 'best' Dex and Em as he marks St Swithin's Day
The old tale is used as a metaphor for Emma and Dexter’s relationship in the series.
However, Netflix’s social media posts on July 15 this year have sparked reaction from some fans.
One post on X/Twitter yesterday included photos of Leo Woodall as Dexter and said: ‘Realising Emma and Dex met today.
‘Realising Emma died today.’
Many fans commented how the post had ‘spoiled’ the show for them, as it revealed a huge part of the plot.
Others fumed how they weren’t going to watch the show after the social media post.
One said: ‘Well, you’ve spoiled that.’
Another added: ‘I have read the book and watched the show but surely not everyone has watched it yet. Why would you tweet that spoiler? Social media fail.’
Someone else commented: ‘Well thanks, I can take this off my watch list now!’
One user said: ‘Wow!! a spoiler warning should have been included lol.’
