Naomi Campbell has revealed there ‘isn’t anybody’ in the world who would have persuaded her to her do a cover shoot with her daughter, other than Edward Enninful.
The supermodel, 53, appeared on the front cover of British Vogue with her daughter in March 2022, after welcoming her in May 2021.
After Edward, 51, stepped down from his role as editor-in-chief with an incredible cover of 40 of the world’s biggest stars, Naomi wrote about their ‘unbreakable bond’ in an open letter.
Naomi, who is a mother-of-two after welcoming a son in June 2023, first met Edward when she was a young model and he was an aspiring stylist in London.
The fashion icon described Edward as having a ‘meteoric rise’ in the fashion industry after two decades at magazine, i-D, after getting the job as fashion director aged 18.

Naomi wrote in her letter, published in The Telegraph: ‘What sets Edward apart is the trust he’s earned from me and many others.
‘His creative vision and commitment to our interests are qualities rare in our industry. I didn’t hesitate to say yes when he asked to feature me with my newborn on the cover of British Vogue.
‘There is nobody else I would have done that for, and there hasn’t been anybody since.’
When the cover shoot came out Naomi admitted she was anxious about fans seeing a different side to her.
‘I was nervous because knowing you all for so many years and decades, seeing me in that different mode of being a mother, I was a bit nervous,’ she said previously.
‘So when my daughter arrived I was just like “oh my goodness”, but she looked straight down the lens, and then she turned and that’s the picture you all see. It was so quick.’
In the letter, Naomi also commended Edward on being able to bring 40 stars together for his final iconic cover.
Edward, the first male and first black editor of the publication, announced in June that he would be stepping down to take on a new global role at publisher Conde Nast.

After sending out requests to his 40 cover stars, including Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss and Gigi Hadid, , Edward confessed he held his breath hoping they’d agree, before the celebrities flew in from London, Paris, Milan, Los Angeles and beyond to arrive in December (at their own expense) for the New York-based shoot.
The ladies had been given three months notice to attend, with Edward writing personal notes to each woman asking them to participate.
‘Similarly, Edward’s honest persuasion brought together 40 of the world’s most influential women for a breathtaking farewell cover shoot. I deeply respect Edward’s decision to step away,’ Naomi wrote.
‘When he shared his plan with me, I understood it because I understand Edward. He is genuinely invested in our industry’s future, keenly aware that we must pave the way for creative talent, and is continually propelled toward greatness.’
