Morgan Wallen’s record-breaking new album I’m the Problem has been accused of pandering to Donald Trump supporters.
Despite Wallen keeping his own politics private throughout his career, some believe that anybody who listens to his music are supporters of President Trump.
Social media hasn’t been quiet about the album’s perceived political undertones, with many taking to sites like X – formerly Twitter – to rant about Wallen and his fans.
‘If you’re a Morgan Wallen fan, I immediately assume you voted for Trump,’ wrote one.
‘I know it’s almost impossible but imagine Morgan Wallen wasn’t a Trump supporter,’ added another.
One fan argued, ‘I don’t think Morgan Wallen is a Trumpie necessarily. He’s a man from the south (def conservative) who doesn’t [give a f**k] about Trump, but in this day and age that’s just as bad. But I don’t think he’s MAGA.’
Variety even published an article about the conspiracy theory, asking, ‘If owning a Tesla truck has become the equivalent of a red MAGA hat, does listening to Morgan Wallen’s new album “I’m the Problem” have the same effect?’

The publication also described the country star’s music as ‘Trump-coded.’
While listeners on both sides of the aisle have projected their own politics onto Wallen, the singer himself has largely steered away from the subject.
However, he does touch on politics on one of his new tracks called Working Man’s Song, in which he criticizes both the left and the right – indicating that his own political views may rest somewhere in the middle.
‘Red, blue, right, left, they still workin’ us to death / And whatever’s left over at the ends to the IRS,’ he sings.
‘Head above water but I’m kickin’ like hell / Ain’t nobody lookin’ out for me but myself.’
Despite the controversy around the album, I’m The Problem is currently breaking records on streaming services across America.
The 37-track album is already the most-streamed country album of 2025 on Spotify and the most streamed country album in its first day in Amazon Music history.

On Apple Music, Wallen currently holds nine of the top ten songs.
His duet with Canadian pop star Tate McRae, What I Want, is No. 1 on Apple Music and is tipped to top the Hot 100.
‘My sister turned me on to Tate and her music a few years ago and I’ve been a fan ever since,’ Wallen told Billboard.
‘She is a true pop star, a prolific songwriter and is also an extremely underrated vocalist.’
Unfortunately, Tate has faced backlash from pop fans for working with Wallen – who got caught drunkenly using a racial slur back in 2021.
‘I’m happy Tate is finally getting her moment but why out of all songs this one,’ wrote one fan.
‘Y’all really do love a mediocre racist white man and his enablers huh,’ added another.
